Little Math Problem

I built a calculator for fleet building, Atronite... unfortunately, it`s done in excel, so it requires a bit of tweaking here and there... been meaning to code it in C, but haven`t had the motivation to do that. As for the equation... it`s quite simple. Split the problem into parts. Treat one turn of ssf and one turn of lsf as one entity, combine their upkeep costs and credit costs, and set the build requirement for this entity at two turns. The easiest way to determine the cost of each turn is how I did it, by propagating each turn expenditure through a spreadsheet. Adding your net total upkeep spent and your total credits spent on buying ships together will get you your gross cost... (though you will probably want to factor in minerals, I don`t as I built the calculator for miners, who don`t notice that the mineral market exists unless they are selling) as for your gross credits, you simply multiply turns expended by your income, add your starting total, and subtract your gross cost.

If you want the spreadsheet I made, PM me on any server of your choice... though I wouldn`t suggest normal, as my PM light doesn`t work there. :P Unfortunately, the spreadsheet only has a limited selection of a.miner and viral ships in it, but it can be easily modded. You do need to know the basics of excel formula use, though, as to change the ship being calculated you have to change the reference cell location.

At, take stephenomathematics into consideration. Always build smallest amounts possilbe (eg, 342 fodders). Otherwise, you double your upkeep costs during the building. If you build 100-turns worth of fodder GC bills you for their upkeep in advance...

There are to many things that could happen, in the amount of time needed, that you can't count for. Like being attacked at any given time and what loses that would bring, so why even bother to try ?

Lets assume, you spend equal turns on building small and large fodder.
As already mentioned, the upkeep limits the total number of turns "X" you can spend::

10*10^6=X*(342*1+90*5)/2
=>X=2*10^7/(342*1+90*5)=25.252 turns

That makes a
Number of small fodder X/2*342=4.318.092
Number of large fodder X/2*90=1.136.340
or a pr of 254 million.

Number of total money available: M=10^9+X*10^7=253 billion

Cost of building:X*(342*535+2035*90)=9 billion

Cost of upkeep:
For estimating the upkeep, lets take the upkeep averaged of large and small fodder Y=(342*1+90*5)/2.
Further assume, you allways build the ships single round after single round (minimizes the cost,
stephen is not good at math) If you build for X truns, you have to pay

X*(X+1)/2*Y=252 billion

So after subtracting the build and upkeep cost, your money account has this left:
-8 billion
of course without paying (or finding!!!) the required strafez minerals....
X/2*(2*342+90*10)=20 million makes another 20 billion costs....

and the joke cost you X*8/60/60/24=2.6 days of continously playing RT and building strafez (booooooring)

By the way, thats quite clsoe to the fleet, which would you bring to a black zero money-level. For latter, you have to build only for

10^9+X*10^7=X*(X+1)/2*(342*1+90*5)/2+X*(342*535+2035*90)
=>X=24.430 turns,

so only 600 turns less than previously.
