In today`s game state, a planet has a single mineral associated with it.
I would love to see a world in which planets have a random assortment of minerals (ie, 20% strafez, 40% red crystal, 60% composite).
Then when clustered the cluster has proportionate minerals, making it possible for miners to get a wider spread of mineral output (without changing total mineral generation)
We just got a game update making ships cost more minerals. Great, I love it - the mineral costs were negligible before.
But mining can be a tough sell, particularly land based mining. If a miner gets a c3, they can produce a lot of minerals - but it`s one mineral. This doesn`t help the buying market at all (aside from general hoarding) and after enough turns producing, can run into a roadblock where the market for that mineral is oversaturated.
I think this adjustment makes mineral production potentially more appealing both to buyers and sellers.
