There have been some players who have reported that they have encountered problems accessing the upgrade planet page since the patch. I have since fix the problem. Deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused by this. Strange considering I just reactivated the code, possibly the bug might has existed sometime ago before it was deactivated.

Ok guys, due to frequent requests from players I have re-activated Similare C.5, or better known as C5.

I would like to advise everyone that this is a trial/test and we may deactivate this feature accordingly depending on the discussion in this thread.

History

C5 was created long long ago back in 2003 during the early days of GC. It was deem unbalanced and removed sometime later in 2005, mainly because anyone who would lose a C5 would relatively quit playing. This comes from a number of statistics, questionnaires and my personal experience of losing a big near-perfect cluster and the irony that the guy who won it plundered it rather than letting me win it back via a counter :(

can u please bring it back? i will make it again.... neva should hav taken it away please plzzzz

I think requiring a player to keep any form of Cluster against their will is silly. What if I`m a one planet Maru and I jump up and the empire I attack has a home world and a C3? Seems like I just got killed by your rule because I have no extra borders and honestly that would make ME quit.

In my opinion it would seem like you are trying to appease the explorers at the cost of the warmongers in a game whose core mechanics are war. Exploring is cool, so are economic empires, but the plain and simple fact remains that these are both designed as a means to an ends, which happen to be beating the pants off enemy fleets in Combat.

If you can`t defend it you don`t deserve it.

i havnt got the sim C5 upgrade....:7

Why would an average c5 only have 512000 land? Some collectives have standards for the planets they keep you know...
K kaledonia
a maxed C5 would have 2`048`000 land = awesome, and a avrage would have 512`000 land still awesome, however the time spent on creating it would be a horrible thing to loose it...:/ still i vote for keeping it^^

Schaijk has a really good idea. I really believe to plunder the big captures, you should have to hold it, if only for the principle.
Besides, it gives you a chance to fill the cluster with housing and let the population grow. That`s a big part of plundering. A month is way too long, but a week seems truly fair.

If you know you are going to lose something (for some reason or another), you still have the jerkish option of removing as much infrastructure as you can from it ;-)
G grantweep
what if a plunder maru captures it Shajik, ,lol

A possible solution to this would be if you don`t allow a C5 to be plundered until someone has controled the C5 for at least 7 days or even up to a month. It could also be expended to all other clusters that get captured. I believe plundering a cluster within minutes after capturing it is a cruel thing to do and takes away a lot from the game. It is much more fun if people get actually hunted down because they just captured a famous huge cluster.

keep on doing what you`re supposed to do to SFGC long time ago Stephen... as long for the better, i`m all for it... :)
C CallMeClutch
wow i had 3 c4`s 3 c3`s and 2 c2`s lol i lost it all during uw as collective and got restarted :) i was the first one to ask stephen to bring c5 back cuz at one point i had enough planets to make one but couldnt lol o what to do should i change back to collective? :)
T Tikimana
YES!
*me continues planet-hunting for a decent C3, but is nonetheless excited for the future

You could always remove the ability for non-collectives to plunder C5s...

4hour(s) ago Maybe I`m in the minority, but I feel like people who quit due to losing a colony, regardless of what it is, might have the wrong ideas of this game.

100% agreed... maybe if you didn`t suck or randomly go afk you wouldn`t have lost it in the first place :P Athough I would be devastated to lose a c5, I`d pretty much be just as devastated to lose a c4 or even my c3 right now... especially since that would mean that I`m pretty much force restarted and I lose my beautiful infra :(. I wouldn`t quit because of it though, I`d just start over and build up again :).
