First of all i`d like to apologize for not being active or around recently with GC. My life has been...rough to say the least. I really don`t want to bore everyone with my personal issues but if you really want to know i`ll tell you. Right now though i`ve come to ask for your help, any little bit you could spare would be nice. I`ve started a go fund me page, that explains a bit about what i`m going through right now. I would like to pour my time and energy into GC and UC, as something to help give me focus each day and to try and help drag me out of turmoil my life has become. I will try to work on improving GC and UC with or without any donations, and no I will not be giving anyone special favors for donating to my page. So if you`re expecting something in return then don`t bother. I would also like to thank you in advance for your time and I would also like to thank for sticking around GC.

that was my point i said buying with cash makes people overpowered

I agree renegade. There are a lot of features that could be implemented fairly easily to make it pay to win. However, I feel like that would corrupt the overall fairness of the game and a lot of long time players would probably leave. Sure there might be an influx of players, but the overall community at the point would probably corrupt and not be as nice as it is currently.

@TG - GC would fail miserably if it was pay to win. Just imagining that makes me sick to think about it. Part of the reason many love it so much is that it`s pretty much am even playing field all the time.

i would be happy to do things not code related maybe like for example missions that earn more ships or a cluster would be the way to go.like a really hard mission like 5 acts or something at the end you unlock a ship and or a c3

Let me know if you guys would like any help developing. I`m in school for computer programming and would love a shot at an actual project like this to add to my resume.

bw i will donate but not for a few weeks if you still have it up I have just bought new furntiture and oil and so forth.
well if your making a new beta should we continue updates here?will our accounts be transferred or have to start again?

other games have buy to play. if you have cash you can seriously go overpowered like other games have ships you can add things to like imagine strazeq being able to fire missile kenetic etc because you have the cash to do so.

GM - BW will never sell pay-to-win models. Anyone whose played GC for awhile for the most part understands why this would be an awful idea to sell ships, planets, etc and BW has always been very fair about this. It`s not as if people haven`t tried to bribe BW before privately.

As for a new GC - As BW hinted a new framework with an engine a million times better is nominally complete, I`ve been helping BW as I can and doing the front end work for a really cool redesign of the game, we very nearly got into a beta, most features are working, but both of us have been busy with RL.

Part of this helps BW have more time to work on that.

A Paterson account would be a great idea bad wolf because then you would have a regular stream of income monthly that you could rely on. And think about selling the ability to turn your c3 into an x class. Doesn`t hurt anybody and people would totally want that.

I feel like a game like GC could just be coded in C++. I`m not opposed to learning cold fusion to help with the game. I like to think I`m a decent coder.

GC is coded in Coldfusion 5, the worst language that could be used for a game. As for making a new GC.. I kind of have already been working on and finished the framework for such a thing in my spare time, but my spare time got got extremely limited, and it`s gotten hard just going day to day with my need of assistance right now.

a new gc would maybe take as long or longer to create as to fix/improve whats already here

while i am not for one to get rid of badwolf due to RL if they think they can do admin work great as a distraction. if not is there really anyone out there in the gc universe good with coding to the extent that could make updates though
