Your community is most unpleasant - this game is too time consuming. You can thank ankaar.

Why we are discussing updates on a a thread, I don`t know. But since we are on the subject, I will throw out some exploring ideas. Which is think are balanced or have a potential for balance with some help.

Miner explorable to 70k land, or 120 planets whichever is first.

Terran explorable to 50k land or 60 planets whichever is first.

Viral to 50k land or 60 planets whichever is first.

Guardian to 40k land or 30 planets whichever is first.

Marauder to 25k land or 25 planets whichever is first.

Collective to 15k land or 20 planets whichever is first.

These of course with the current economies in place would solve a lot of the issues that are brought to light so often. Also tweaking with the numbers could be done as these are just quick numbers that I thought up. Another thing is that with these thresholds, we could essentially get rid of scouts and have exploring be more of a research based aspect of the game. So that your next colony explored would depend on your land/colony count. From 1 turn-40 turns or something.

So there you go. Just a thought.

I get the idea that the way things were setup way back when was set that way to accommodate a large player base that simply doesnt exist now.
Yes, tweaking land sizes could help, and i like caramelos border idea which would not only give an added excuse to fight, but would possibly benefit the non-explorable races by allowing them to explore by attacking.

I will also throw out two more ideas, both are not mine:
Let random C1 clusters be explored like that last DM we had and,
Randomize loyalty on explored planets....to a point. No more than, say, 1200. No more than 200 on U class.
O Omegian
Well, if you do exploration by land amount versus colony, you could technically explore a c3 full of gas. (leaves the room and the immediate area).

I really dislike rewarding anyone more than what is considered fair to those that might fight alot versus very little. I don`t think artifact rewards are right and maybe tweaking planet sizes are the answer, but at the same time I feel like trying to find the right planets is part of the games strategy. There was at one time a reason why things were built/programmed in this game, was it for the best reasons? Probably not, but who knows.

Very interesting caramelo.

Of course one would need to setup some rules, like if a person has a barren above 800 then randomness wouldnt apply and so on and so forth
C Caramelo18
ankaar frankly its just easier to make borders gained be random (different from what the person has on borders) unless its u class or clusters.

Basically the defender still looses the top 3 but the "attacker" gains different colonies.

Say you attack me and i have 3 icy of land 10 on borders, i would still loose the icys, but you would (in randomness) gain 1 barren of 1000, 1 u fertile of 1800 and 1 u large of 10000 (cause your super lucky :P)

Ghostcat altho i personally wouldnt mind if 1 could explore a c3 (just 1 tho), this game never allowed that so theres no point in arguing with it.

pmsl.... 1 less newb i guess xP

This has to be the most friendly online community there is...

TheSphere, I didnt agree with him.

He thought miner exploring was too difficult and too expensive.
He thought that making exploring easier for everyone would result in more fighting.
His logic was that if borders were easier to explore, people wouldnt be in risky situations as often and could be bothered to fight.

I suggested that if exploring were easier, thered be no need to fight for planets and we could just sit in dp and explore all day.
I also suggested that if borders were much easier to explore, then the benefits from fighting become even lower because all you will ever get are someones borders. The chances of grabbing a nice cluster or planet decrease even further than they are currently.

I suggested a few things in order to make fighting happen more.
1) do something to nerf gordos or nerf high land planets. / clusters.
2) from here on out, standardize planets, either to a degree, or totally. Consider if every planet was 400-600 land, or simply every planet was 500 land. No planet would be considered junk, and every border you took would be beneficial to you.

I also realize there are downsides to both suggestions. 1 - anyone with a gordo`d planet is going to cry if they are nerfed, and some people like the variety in planet sizes because it gives some fun to exploring. I can tootally see both points of view there, but if you want to make fighting happen more often, you need to make it so that there is actually a benefit to leaving dp and trying to take someones crabpy borders.

Someone else suggested an artifact granted to winners in a battle. Im not saying that thats the best idea - but it does bring up the issue that as it stands, the ONLY point in fighting is if youre trying to control the ranks for a UW.

Hmm. More colonies to plunder...

Thanks Ankaar =)

Songsteal, haha!

Don`t forget to give your lunch money to the bullies, honey!

GhostCat wanted to be able to explore for C3`s, and states that it costs too much for A Miner... for the race with the best economies around. He/she didnt want to listen to the facts, just argue their point at every turn. If that is the way they want to go about it, too bad.
T TheSphere
Why dont you both put up behindytical evidences for each of your grievances with aminer exploring. So we can come to an exact conclusion. With nice things like facts. Instead of bashin eachother.
A Ankaar
yep

Miner exploring costs too much money
W wingnut
Did this guy just rage quit because he wants to explore more planets?
E Eroberer
If you quit just stop logging in, the dramatic acts should have been dropped at the same time you hit highschool.
