TheSphere, I didnt agree with him.
He thought miner exploring was too difficult and too expensive.
He thought that making exploring easier for everyone would result in more fighting.
His logic was that if borders were easier to explore, people wouldnt be in risky situations as often and could be bothered to fight.
I suggested that if exploring were easier, thered be no need to fight for planets and we could just sit in dp and explore all day.
I also suggested that if borders were much easier to explore, then the benefits from fighting become even lower because all you will ever get are someones borders. The chances of grabbing a nice cluster or planet decrease even further than they are currently.
I suggested a few things in order to make fighting happen more.
1) do something to nerf gordos or nerf high land planets. / clusters.
2) from here on out, standardize planets, either to a degree, or totally. Consider if every planet was 400-600 land, or simply every planet was 500 land. No planet would be considered junk, and every border you took would be beneficial to you.
I also realize there are downsides to both suggestions. 1 - anyone with a gordo`d planet is going to cry if they are nerfed, and some people like the variety in planet sizes because it gives some fun to exploring. I can tootally see both points of view there, but if you want to make fighting happen more often, you need to make it so that there is actually a benefit to leaving dp and trying to take someones crabpy borders.
Someone else suggested an artifact granted to winners in a battle. Im not saying that thats the best idea - but it does bring up the issue that as it stands, the ONLY point in fighting is if youre trying to control the ranks for a UW.
