Honestly, the market and racial variation is the only thing I like better about gc than uc haha.

Although, a lot of the problem on uc stems from the fact that a black market exists where even if nobody posts food, there is food for you to buy only marginally more expensive than the maximum allowable price.
Also, the maximum allowable price for food is 20, which kind of sucks. Like, Id gladly go all out food production on uc, but theres a solid cap to income because i cant sell for higher than 20 even if everyone else in the game was hardcore taxer.

On top of that, theres no infra cap.
Infra in general boosts production. Housing infra though boosts the housing capacity while leaving tax income the same. This means that as the formulas are currently, after a certain level, taxing is ALWAYS better than the other incomes regardless of the racial modifiers.

The lack of an infra cap destroyed any versatility in the uc marketplace. Id kill to go back to a 255 cap. 255 cap would also make it much more difficult for people to just go camp at max pr, which is all too attainable when you can have 1,2, 3, 4k infra levels.

Ill stop moaning about uc now :P

Go play UC if you want all those bells and whistles. The fact that you have to strategize is what makes GC fun.

I guess indefinite Vming is the only answer. Hence why I don`t play turned based. Play commercial terran something independent of the market.

Yea going solo, you will reap those rewards, going with a team and compensating each other means the risks are mitigated. That is why you have fed mates.

yes but as EmperorTPE said, on the turn based servers reap what you sow means if the market moves agaisnt you and your empire now makes no money, you are basically stuffed and just have to VM for years or quit. This isn`t much of a problem on RT.

They won`t do it per multiple admins thinking it will lead to many change requests based upon what is going on in the market, I.e. tax virals going comm because of food price and vice versa.

I prefer the non-uc way honestly, you build what you reap and can restart as something else.

Or we could make the game so that when you restart you get level 254 reasearch of your choice and a 250k c2.

Changing the research level that you start with is something they have demonstrated they can do in DM and is something else entirely from what you asked. Maybe they have the ability to do both but in the rules it states that they won`t or can`t change an existing empires infrastructure levels.

Your question is a lot more relevant in its new context.
