Time to nerf upkeep

I`m tired and really don`t have the time to chase virals everyday who hit you and than spam to 100`s of million power using cheap maru ships. The funny thing is i use to do the same thing lol and i`m a viral; However, seriously going past 100 million power should be a major accomplishment not just something any viral can do. If overall power of the top 5 is lowered by increased upkeep you will see allot more action throughout the entire server. Most of the other maru ships upkeep to power ratio is not too bad 1:4 But pyths and D angels really should not be available to virals at current upkeep. Viral is a rich race and this more than anything has unbalanced the server.

From my understanding it`s relatively easy to change the code for upkeep; However, if this is not the case another solution would be to make pyths and d angels only available to Maru. I be losing 2 of my favorite ships but i`m sure i be more happy to see a more active server as a result.

This is the change I think everyone has agreed on the longest and it should be the easiest change to implement. I mean it didnt a take long to raise the build cost at the time that was implemented. I figure thats pretty much the same sort of change, e.i. a number changed..lol.

economics, i like that here , accounting and economics are so easy for me ^^, A+E=L+OE+R is all ya need to know in my opinion XD

meh... i rather all the Terran ship upkeep can be reduce 5% - 10% :)

Terran dont need new ships :)

*note the Terran ship upkeep is getting higher in each update since the Beta v1.0 until now

I can only imagine the terrans having a P. Ownage ship upkeep 300, hull 5 milllion and weapons 1 billion

yeah i agree terran should definitely have atleast one or two decently fast building ships with a not so rediculous upkeep!!

for the 1st time ever i agree 100% with Achilles i sure wish teran had some big ships that cost next to nothing for upkeep.. queens, runners are cheep yes but die very easy.. even with max infra and 500 + planets for my empire going to 100 mil pr ment loosing tens if not hundreds of billions

As expected: Only the bare idea to nerf virals is enough, that several virals are starting haggling for another advantage. ...

If any ship stats are changed, should everybody be able to ask to become another race?

yeah fiddy i agree 100%... i got into it with a few guides and a couple A"s about that... most of them agreed and said there would more then likely be a way to switch ships if upkeep is changed... would be lame to play a game with ships that you chose because of certain stats and then change those stats and not let you pick a different ships knowing the new stats etc...

if anything is changed i want the option to get rid of the ships and get something else its not very fair to change things like that which we have no control over

Correct me if i am wrong, the point of increasing upkeep on reengeneered ships is nearly as old as comnplaining about the empty mineral market as old as complaining that a.miner are not an easy race, as old as.....

Do you realy think, this will be fixed some times? There are several reasons speaking against this point: The first is, the update will not come, lets be realistic. The second is, that most of the virals out there are paying customers, and they pay for this low upkeep (and dont forget low mineral!) advantage. For many this the main reason to play virals. If you cut this advantage, many of these players will discontinue playing, since they can not longer pay for wining, making less cash for stephen.

You can call me flaming, but if you think, nobody aggrees with this argumentation, then take a look to the GC-sister game, why paying for everything is so popular...

You know i try to read and pay attention to this thread but all i can read is whaawhaa whaa i want my mommy and i don`t want to play by the current restrictions of the game so i`m gonna complain... this topic has been beaten to death and every single person in GC has agreed to some extent of what you`re saying is right and upkeep should be redone and blah blah blah... good suggestion but if you`d like to waste more energy and time just pm me gcrt and i`ve got a few dead horses you can beat on for a while o.O

I like AssassinatorS idea alot.It would make Virals more of a"stacking" race possibly.There really isn`t any call for haveing 6+ capital ships like some players have REed.Allow older empires the chance to unreverse the ones they dont want to really keep.I just restarted as Viral again and i think it would be a good thing for the game to shake things up a little :)

As ive suggested many a time. Not only the choice of ships viral are allowed should be limited to 3 per race (as it is now) but also a new restriction of ONE BIG ship per race should be allowed. This would help reduce spamming tactics of many different ships, so Virals would be left with spamming 3 diff big ships like the other races really. Plus it would mean viral could only have pyth OR angel, not both. Therefore also reducing the jumping up so high tactic.
