The exact number is between 6 and 7, and it only increases income by about 1.8%, which is barely worth the effort of waiting for a 10% increase further into the game. Go pure agriculture, and if you want the extra 1.8%, when you hit 248 agri tech, pour the rest into housing.
Well maru in theory there is an optimum combination of housing and agri research to get the most food production. In practice it makes very little difference. Especially before you get close to maxing out research. However figuring out the optimum point is your problem Conquers

land size is as high as your lucky enough to get it and tech level is of course to be focused mainly on agriculture.
if you wish to have some housing also then its entirely up to you.
most people roll 7 housing and the rest in agri...
