I saved a lot of stuff in gc and uc when uc was being developed.

Came across stuff which is bound to be dated, but still interesting.

Aqua Orb, Black Orb, Blue Orb, Brown Orb, Golden Orb, Gray Orb, Green Orb, Moccasin Orb, Orange Orb, Pink Orb, Plum Orb, Purple Orb, Turquoise Orb, White Orb, Yellow Orb,

Ancient remnants from the old Kal-Zul Empire, Some archaelogists say the inscriptions mention the "Fusion" of these artifacts with others, yet most believe they make great household decorations.

Energy Pod

The Energy Pod glows dimly showing evidence of some form of Energy stored within it. The Energy Pod has currently no known use resulting in most people using it primarily as a fancy decorative light.

Amber Dinero

Upon first use of dineros it was discovered that these strange artifacts when activated tended to have strange effects on an empires own bank account, and some enterprising soul discovered this worked on other empires accounts as well.

good times, i was the first person on RT to ever fight Lucus, and i won, got 5 BTC`s and 5 PCC`s for it if i`m not mistaken BTCs were for the first one to fight it, and PCC`s were for actually winning.

I feel old in that DM ... very old considering it was my 2nd or 3rd one I did.

On that note, I have alot of stuff from those days as well on my feds forums. I recall the best thread about the birth of Lucas on TB servers back in 06`, yes it has been 10 years and a few posts that are edited below:

02/03/06 Check out the rankings. Lucus is the richest player out of all the servers, even surpassing everyone on the R/T server and he resides on the Ultra server.

Believe it or not, I welcome the idea of the character Lucus coming in. It definitely spices up the game quite a bit since he has the ability to build whatever ships he wants. You should all be thankful that the staff or Stephen has thought of something like this to make the game a bit more interesting.

I personally don`t mind fighting Lucus even with his ability to use all of the ships available in the game and his huge bankroll, but not when he has time capsules up the ying yang. That right there is not right, especially since only a handful of players are able to reach him and put a dent in his fleet. Keep his turns in check and then players will start to use their cash reserves and artifacts to take him down.

Also wonder if any of this one has changed.

How do I dig for more and more useful artifacts?
Several things effect the amount and their type of artifacts you will get.

.Planet : In order from Worst to best Ocean, Gas, U.Spazial (Other planets will yield artifacts, but not nearly in the same quantity)

.Land Mass : As a General Rule of thumb, the lower land the planet, the better results it will hold, the ideal digging planet would be a 2 land U.Spazial

.Actions : Actions you have taken in the last 20 mins will effect your chances

.Race : Certain Races have a positive or negative modifier to finding artifacts

This isn`t Comprehensive, there are many other things that contribute, but it is unrecommended not to spend to many turns at a time, especially during a period rares are expected, as every so often you will get messages such as “building site collapsed, $xxx Paid to diggers as comp.” Which wont bankrupt you, but will mean you do not gain any artifacts from that dig. A paid account should also increase your chances of finding things by 20%

One other Major thing is time, Different times will Give different sucess rates, of different artifacts... eg. (All times listed in server time)

Commons
04:00PM – 06:30PM
07:00PM - 08h30PM
09:00PM - 10h00

Uncommons
08:31PM – 09:00PM

Rares
06:31PM – 07:00PM

You will find orbs and artifacts at other times, this is just when you re most likely to find things of each type.

What restrictions are there on artifacts?
You Cannot use the capsule lab during a UW

You Cannot use a PCC On another empire, or at all during a UW

You cannot use a PCC when you already have the maximum amount of colony`s

You cannot use a Gordo on your home world if its a stable homeworld <-- is this still true for Aminers and Terrans ?

Major Gordo

In early attempts to create The PCC`s, and the accidental discovery of the Minor Gordo, the artifact was refined to create this, more effective Planet expansion artifact.

Planetary Core (PCC)

The planetary core of a planet was succesfully extracted by an ancient race. The remains are then in some unknown way transported in to a five dimensional encasement. Upon destroying this encasement the original planet of which the planetary core belongs to will appear. This is speculated to be a means of transporting and keeping planets between the vast areas of the galaxy during ancient times.

This was created to counteract the Cosecha, instead of donating food to a friendly empire, this will destroy some of the targets food supply. Especially devistating on poor or absent minded leaders.

Grand Alimento

Made to aid ancient Kal-Zul empires under attack from the Alimento, this artifact will increase food supplies.

Grand Barrera

During the rise of the Kal-Zul artifacts in the ancient times, this artifact was used to combat and protect empires from malicious artifact useage. Now rediscovered, it was shown it could not only protect, but hinder an empire by creating a mystical Kho Shield to repel artifacts.

Grand Cosecha

Made to aid ancient Kal-Zul empires under attack from the Alimento, this artifact will increase food supplies.

Grand Dinero

John, a sneaky chemist from a terran colony, was experimenting with a way to hide his cache of embezzeled money, finally resorting to his craft he made a artifact with this intended use. The artifact did hide 10% of his vast fortune. Unfortunately for John he never did manage to work out how to recover it.

The pride of the Kal-Zul in the field of Industrial Artifact warfare, this will destroy 30% of an empires goods supply, absolutly devistating if used on a tax based empire.

Grand Requerido

After Toms surprise discovery, the patent was bought by the Kal-Zul empire, and refined to create this highly effective Raw Material

In early atempts to create The PCC`s, this was stumbled upon, upon activtion, the furthest away planet experiences a strange growth allowing it to expand.

This sucessful project was used during the first testing of the Overmind Project, as it allowed its receiver to avoid attacks quite sucessfully for a short period of time, allowing them to recover.

This creation was a fork of the Requerido project, instead of targeting the Raw Material side of the Industry machine, this artifact will Target the Goods stored of an empire.

Major Tierra

This artifact is used to wage war on new empires, which has the ability to oxidize ore supplies making them next to useless.

Small Time Capsule

Time capsule enables the user to temporarily warp the space-time dimension around the user`s empire. This allows the effected empire to perform additional tasks.
Time capsule gives the empire additional turns upon usage. Turns can only go up to the maximum amount of turn storage for that server, so if the maximum turn storage is 180 and you have 175 already you will only gain 5 turns. So it is advise able to use up all your turns first prior to using the time capsule.

This artifact uses mind control to cause unrest in an empire, causing the loyalty of an empires population to dwindle.

Young Tom the son of a industrial miner was playing with this paperweight left to him by his grandmother when he accidentally activated it and depleted his fathers raw material reserves. In order to deflect his punishment he pointed out to his father this could be used against rivals.This caused Tom`s father to monopolise all artifacts of its kind and rule the universal market.
