UW Reward ships on TB? A joke

As a person who has one of these "over powered" ships, I can tell you right now, they aren`t THAT over powered. Useful, yes, but the build rate isn`t that great compared to other ships, and they aren`t super hard to kill. It would be very hard for me to spam the ship and still be able to actually win.

The real problem isn`t the ships, it`s the fact that we have a community that`s constantly shrinking because the original DEV is only doing the minimum necessary to just keep the servers going, not actually continuing to add new content.

The main problem on Ultra is the lack of opposition to the main fed, not the UW ships, I joined the server to try and provide some, sort of works.

Well the UW ship I got on normal speed is almost un-usable in any numbers as I have a guardian empire.
But yes when spamed they can be good if they hit your fleets week spot, but once you know they are there they are easy to smash.

Activities on TB was already in the toilet before the Uw ship proposal. Alot of the reason was stated by sibi already. And it did do the job, cause those empires that had deadlock on the server did blow up, and the opportunity was givin for other players. Problem is the active players had already givin up. Was just too late is all. Seems to be a pattern when it comes to that. Takes two years for the fix to actually be implemented.

Exactly, it was going to happen (continue) one way or another. I`m pretty certain that if you were to graph the loss of active players over the years, the trend would have remained unchanged after the introduction of the UW rewards.

Meanwhile, it is undeniable that they accomplished their short term goal of upticks in activity from those still here.

May i remind you that masta did not join the dominant fed. Together with the rest of us his made us dominant. Had a 7 year old empire he blew up to get the UW ships...

@ Trav - The incentives are great for RT. Issue is they should have never been offered to TB. All it did was encourage string UW`s by the same players causing TB to lose literally everyone else.

Entirely the opposite of their intended effect - Though tbh that was bound to happen thanks to the dig times and fed parity anyway.

But no, no the game is not what it once was. We`re the stubborn clingers, stuck to the toilet bowl after the great turd of a game named GC was flushed, over half a decade ago.

I`m plenty nostolgic, doesn`t mean I`m going to pout when I break my dlck off during a retal. Just saying.

They were begun to help motivate players to hit the red button, thereby increasing server activity. Which they arguably accomplished... I personally know of a good few folks that UW`d exclusively for the rewards.

No one will do so for another fluffer of a subpar neutral.

I`m so sorry I made a Zwei spam Rocinante! Next time I will just spam bull or pike and the result will be the same when you run a massive fez fleet into it. That`s also cheaper for me :-)

I agree that the ships are good, not really OP, since they all have fairly low hull and can be killed from below if they know you have it. They really earn their right in stacks, since for instance miners now have 2 more no retal ships with good damage, so they can actually fight aggressively.

Think about what is most OP. Pete and I on fast had empires who could sit at 100-200mil fleets with massive arti stacks... Basically no one would have a chance on getting rank control unless they came in massive numbers with big empires. Now we blew them up, and I haven`t been above 1mil PR with this empire. I think that balances things out a bit...

I don`t particularly see the huge issue with them. Great ships, yes. It`s not like they`re invulnerable by any means though. And personally, it`s pretty rare that I`ve actually used them to any real extent. (Let alone spam them. Hah.)

This just sounds like someone forgot to call the Whaaamubulance to my ears. *Shrug*
