Best Ships

So, before i give my mathematically scrutinized opinion i want to know what some of you think.

What do you think is the best overall ship in single stack battle attacking a stack with equal power?

Eg.
1116 Light fighter drones vs. 5 F.Broadword
That`s 5580 power on each side.

What do you think is the best ship overall when attacking a single stack with ships 1 to 1?
Eg.
1 light fighter drone vs. 1 F.broadsword.

This question is about all usable ships NOT including reward ships, and NPC ships. SO just ships everyone can build.
Also this only applies to attacking but that doesn`t really change things much statistically.

This is only for fun :) and to see what the opinions are.

If you can/would like to please explain the choices.

I`m going to have to re-check my sim when I get time, i`m getting a more scenario losses for Aries and Tourmaline.

Also, what do you mean when you say you don`t have to do the defensive side because you`re already doing it?
S sibiriangun
You miss a lot of the guard ships cagito.

Aries loses to all 3 K. class and quartz on all stances and furthermore to ruby/fluorite/topaz/amethyst on aggro.

-procrastinating my work. Didn`t notice the character limit.

I never thought of basing it on % of scenario wins, I like that.

But if you base the best ship only on total wins and losses it doesn`t take into account how glorious the wins or crushing the defeats are.

C. Aries wins the most scenarios, but only by a small % for a lot of them.
Whereas, say, Tourmalines wins a sizeable majority of its scenarios, and by a pretty hefty % for most.

They`re both interesting ways of showing trends, but I personally think `best ship` should give at least some weight to how much it wins each scenario by. And (although difficult to give any kind of solid numbers) give a bit of weight on how commonly used or maybe even how good the defending ship is. I have scouts and D. Maru ships on defense wildly skewing numbers when they hardly ever get used.
C cagitoOP
Corrected Aries lose list. Forgot, if pr lost is equal defender wins lol.

Had to change that in the code. Silly me.

And sorry, Tourmaline is actually right above aries with 25 scenarios. Aries has 31

Here are the PR:PR ordered by # of scenarios.
So actually Aries is #2. Sorry bout that.
I ordered them by # of ships before.List below is by # of scenarios.

25 Scenarios Tourmaline
31 Scenarios C.Aries
33 Scenarios R.Sloop
38 Scenarios V.Borrelly
47 Scenarios T.Maru
C cagitoOP
Also, sleep how would there be aggressive attacking careful? mode is selected by attacker. Defender has no choice. So no point in running scenarios that are impossible in the game.

Also, as soon as i make the UI i will be sharing my code. In the same place as the econ simulator.

I don`t doubt my math is correct considering how accurate i have made the econ simulator. precision is my thing. Although i will have to do testing with real in-game scenarios to verify my results just like i did with the econ simulator.

I can as of now find all ships/scenarios that beat any selected ship. I do have the UW and NPC ships in there but they are not used. They are better than Aries by FAR.

It was a lot of info to dig around and figure out how to use it to make it useful lol. Now i just need a front end UI to make it super easy to use. As of right now its all Command line pretty much. As there is absolutely no UI whatsoever.

In any case, i like where this is going though. Keep it coming :D
C cagitoOP
Ok here is a further explenation of the maths. and 279 was incorrect.

In any case there are 94 different ships.

3 att types. so 94 X 3 is 282. so 282 total.

Sleeper, no i don`t need to do the opposing. If say i have C.Aries Attack a stack of T.Maru for example I do Not have to do the opposite (defense) as i am already doing it.

Later in the sim the P.Apollo attack C.aries. So theres the defensive side.

And I`m saying Aries is actually the best ship overall. At least when fighting stacks of ships with equal pr to itself.

And elemental 3 atta types. Normal, Careful, Agressive. so 94 ships 3 att types = 282 scenarios per ship.

And for your concerns Sleep here are the scenarios that beat Aries.

If any of these are incorrect please feel free to let me know. Some have been tested in Green yedis battle sim for verification. Although even then could still be incorrect.
S Sleeper
Shouldn`t there be 5 scenarios? Careful, Normal Attacking/Normal Defense, and Aggressive Attacking/Aggressive Defense.

are you sure you`re calculating battles correctly, i`m not saying you aren`t or are but shouldn`t you show the math behind the system you`re using and perhaps the ships and attack types they beat C.Aries on.

but no C.Aries being very good or potentially the best ship in the game is very old news, i think we all know that is the reason why it`s build rate blows.
E elemental
Sorry, not-smart question. My brain`s burnt out from math HW.
E elemental
Wait a minute- "31 different scenarios out of 282 possible (include itself) or 279 excluding"?

When did fighting itself start counting as 3 scenarios?
C cagitoOP
Yourself. Yes i ran the simulations. Made a Javascript for it. Cycle through all ship combinations. As well as fighting styles.

I then went a step further. I used the same concept but rather than finding where they win/lose I recorded how many ships/style combinations they lose to.

I did it for pr:pr and 1:1 all att styles.

You guys may be in for a shocker here.
My findings,

The best ship in a Pr : Pr (Stacks with pr matching) The absolute best ship??

Believe me or not, C.Aries.

It only has 13 different ships that beat it. or 31 different scenarios out of 282 possible (include itself) or 279 excluding.

For the 1:1 there is a tie between 4 Ships .
K.Hun-Zen
K.Hun-Xe
G.Lictor
A.Kryo

Fighting 1:1 these ships have no counter.

I may be incorrect of course, but these are my findings.

Borrs is the best in my opion, add the fact that they capture and its not even close lol

Ryu Jin

OBVIOUSLY!

I am weirdly prepared for this thread. I made a battle sim in excel and made a table of every ship(including scouts, kal-zul and d.maru ships) against every other ship while being able to change the power ratings and attack style. Each battle is given a rating of the ratio of remaining ships (0 if no attacking ships left, 1 if no defending ships left, 0.5 if the same % of attacking and defending ships remain etc).

All of these numbers are assuming they are at the same PR (and a high PR, at low PR`s this is less accurate)

Discounting the NPC and rewards ships, on aggressive the top 5 battle ratios are:-
P. Thor - 0.7223
P. Odin - 0.6819
V. Borrelly - 0.6707
Pike - 0.6642
P. Zeus - 0.6626

Normal:-
Tourmaline - 0.7030
V. Borrelly - 0.6882
R. Sloop - 0.6318
M. Epidote - 0.5964
D. Hammerhead - 0.5926

Careful:-
Tourmaline - 0.7260
V. Borrelly - 0.6671
R. Sloop - 0.6453
D. Hammerhead - 0.6256
R. Pinnacle - 0.6214

This isn`t a perfect representation of ships, it doesn`t take into account damaging ships (if you damage a stack by %60, on its turn it`ll return %40 fire) meaning it`s more accurate at higher PRs.
It also doesn`t distinguish between both sides losing 1% ships and both sides losing 90% ships (it doesn`t matter when they`re at the same PR, but if one is higher it`s losing more PR in the same % of ship loss).
It also gives even weight to every ship regardless of how often it`s used (I mean, how often do you fight light frigates as a real stack?).
The averages here also include the ratio of the ships attacking scouts, Kal-zul and D.Maru ships.
All of the stats for these ships were taken from the manual, but I don`t know how accurate it is. I know it doesn`t have all of the kal-zul ships.

Lastly but not entirely related, surprisingly the Viator (but not the Viator II) is a very good defensive ship. It has a better defensive ratio(different to attacking ratio) then several non-scout ships (0.3998 on careful).

I`m very good at pro
