Well, remember that player EXPERIENCE is what matters. Graphics obviously contribute a great deal to that experience, but it`s only one factor. Clearly this game needs to improve that experience in some way.

Unless it becomes more mobile friendly I don`t see it gaining popularity anytime soon in today`s graphics-driven PC gaming scene

Yeah our player base would probably grow several times over at least if it became a facebook game. Even with having to cut facebook into the profits Stephen would no doubt make a lot more money.

LastCrusader, I`ve wondered the same thing. This game would have enormous potential on facebook, and it would actually bring more facebook fans to this site as well. I would imagine a fan created app version of this game would be great.

Wasn`t it AC who is working on the PHP code version of this game? He could put those skills to good use on creating a facebook app, which requires knowledge of java and php.

Game`s as alive as it used to be few months ago. The same amount of people still play, more or less. Only change is less people log at the same time due to academic year starting not long ago and the majority of the players not having as much time to play.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Cos he`s about as lazy as a cat surrounded by catnip and towels.

And graphics wise.. I`ve seen shi.ttier games on facebook.. This game would have a chance once players get started...

I`m confused at why Stephen hasn`t jumped on putting this game on Facebook... Is he worried that his income would be limited since a portion would go to Facebook? I mean.. what`s he getting at the moment? ugh.. i wish he would improve his current games with potential instead of creating flops that die out in a few months.

Sadly, the only real way things will improve is if Stephen actually starts taking a leadership role in the game`s development again, or appoints someone from the staff to develop and market this game for him. Plenty of talented and capable people who`d be willing to do this for a nominal fee or even for free.

That said, 2003 was a very different time for the web. Facebook was launched in Feb 2004, which is about the time that we can safely say is when social media started its rise. This game benefited from the social media boom, but instead of increasing ways for players to interact with each other GC merely stagnated, cutting features (such as fed leader voting), or even cracking down much more harshly on behaviors that are largely tolerated in other MMOs (such as effectively giving money away in helpful amounts to other allied players).
And lets not forget that many active, PAYING, players have left over the numerous bouts of drama in player vs staff conflicts.

In a web filled with bright shiny graphics, it`s too easy for new players to decide that this game sucks and simply leave without a trace. Even in 2005 when it was easy to fill up a fed with 21 new-to-the-game people, I would routinely have to kick more than half of them for not logging in for 2 weeks.

Well clearly US users aren`t the main drivers of this game, but EU folks. Or maybe you simply happened to log in right after an admin induced server reset.
