Hello everyone, I haven`t been active on GC this past year due to work and other things, but now I have some free time again. If you remember, I was working on a revamped version of GC in 2011. Life got busy and I put that on hold. But now, i`m thinking about starting it back up again.

Before I even start, I want to reemphasize that I don`t every want to put anything live on the web without Stephen`s permission because coding the game is the easy part (maybe not that easy) but its coming up with the idea that is difficult.

I am not looking to gain any monetary benefits from doing this, I have a day job (that has nothing to do with computers). I am doing this because i want to learn to become a better programmer and I like the challenge. IF stephen does want to update GC, then i have no problem supplying the code to him.

When I started this, I was a newbie in PHP so there were some big flaws in design and coding, so I am going to start of from scratch again.

This being 2013, I have been officially playing GC on and off for 10 years. I started in November 2003 even though my current empire age doesn`t reflect it. Like it or not, GC has not kept up with the changes in the web over the last decade. I understand Stephen may not want to take up the challenge again due to personal reasons, but I am going to try anyways.

Hopefully this will give me some motivation to keep going!

What languages are you using to write the game? PHP? JavaScript?

still working on it, got a full time job though ( i work 7 days on 7 days off) i try to do as much as i can on my weeks off

Any updates on progress? Been hoping for this since you first started, matter of fact I am most of the views on the YouTube vid lol will be a happy day when you launch and I very much look forward to being there from the beginning :)

I`d like to make a suggestion:

To design the game the way GC plays with Anfits Mods like fleet builder, artifact fuser, and things like that as standard view.

AC you have enough support GC`ers are sick of the BS that has been generated from stephen neglecting GC.

I dont code, but if you need anyone to create spreed sheets lmk, ill donate my time.

Ya I agree with Africa, you have to remember not everyone lives in the states. Would American courts honor some third world. Country copy rights? I don`t think he would have a problem one with this. Too small of a game and would be enough difference to not be a problem if they was that picky about enforcing copy rights games like candy crush and pet saga would be shut down. Simple rename of the game would be enough change for them to not even mess with it. Besides that like stated before it would cost more to prosecute across international than this game is worth, and with all the trouble with files are infringement I don`t think he has leg to stand on. That being said I would invest with no worries.

@ Rag, technically you are right. As far as blog posts and stuff, theres been alot of legal heat since the wordpress incident a few weeks ago with takedowns

Well, I still think it would require more than good luck to raise this with any court anywhere in the world and prove some form copyright has been broken. Especially since the playerbase/income etc is negligent. I mean, how would Stephen even fund a lawsuit and where would he file it? I think AC is more than safe should he make an exact copy of the game, especially one which is modified.
