i used to be staff and i did nothing of the sorts you say pistol nor was i CC. i helped run events i helped catch the cheaters (market trans/botters/etc) while i was staff. i used to think the same with the whole only CC runs staff but the main reason why is cause CC is one of the more active feds/groups of people in gc..so it only makes sense there mainly staff...some of them have no lives no offense :P but i bet if you take the online of the most active people most of the staff members will be in the top 10 probably...i had quit due to inactivity and disagreement with others but was my own choice, was able to leave and they dont bug me about it ever again. dont take this as im defending anyone its just the true facts of staff in general and what its like when I was one personally.

You help players, and help the admin`s out with anything they need help with when it comes to resolving issues.

I`d love to "join the staff" But I`d need to know what the staff do first. Honestly all I really see as needed on this server is to monitor for chat infractions and multi-logins... The latter being completely automated. So please explain to me what it means to "be staff"

Also next time apps are up expect to see mine, Loved this game for years now even if i lost my origional account info.

Join the staff next time there`s an app for it, and see the other side of the grass. it`s volunteer so you can leave at anytime if you feel it`s not for you.

Since this thread seems to have decended to a moan by the staff I`ll check in my 2 cents worth.
As a realative newcomer I have no knowledge of any prior regimes under which the game has developed and no idea of the time and effort that the current staff have previously dedicated to the game, all I can comment on is the state of the game now as I perceive it.
From my point of view the ideal situation would be for the game to be Administered by a totally independant staff team who were not players and the only player roles to be as guides acting in a purely advisory capacity. If this were implemented in an even vaguely effective way I`d certainly fork out cash to play. In this case a totally dictatorial regime would be completely appropriate. Given that the creator of the game seems to have all but abandoned it I realise there is virtually no chance of this happening.
So given that this is not going to happen I feel that the current situation does not represent a fair state of afairs and I will not buy into what I believe is an intrinsicly unbalanced system. If the game is to be run by players then the only way to stop the moaning and back biting and to ensure that not only is the game fair but percieved to be that way is for the action of the Admins to be completely open and transparent.
If that were the case or I believed that there was a willingness to move towards this then I would happily volunteer my time to help in whatever capacity I could.
Sadly if this doesn`t happen I forsee the game declining more and more rapidly as people are put off by what appear to be high handed abitrary decisions made by Admins with a huge vested interest.
Again I emphasise this is my perception of what is happening, I don`t actually know what is happening due to the fact that there is no transparency in the workings of the Staff which is the point I`m making.

And to comment on what you say BW. (Now I am serious).

I didn`t even notice you had made a call for applications. That said I would probably never apply either. If I should make a job description based on what I see game-guides do, it would be:

- Write silly posts
- Edit some other game-guides post so that it looks silly
- Write something with another textcolor than white.
- Control the raffle thread.

Most staff have either resigned due to lack of time/interest or have working behind the scenes for GC in their spare time (Ex. Xander, GhostofJ, Wiccawilow, and a few others)

At the start of the year discussed opening up guide applications with GameAdmin. There were a total of two applications. Given the lack of interest and extending the applications for nearly a month i opted to just close them.

You sit there and say these things over and over but i ask you this. If you want a more diverse staff why is it when GIVEN the chance to actually step up to make that start to happen none of you are willing to stand up to make it happen.

I understand your frustration but you need to understand mine.. With alot of the staff lacking time or interest.. and no one willing to even put in the effort to apply to be a guide.. What would you suggest i do? Pull staff out of a hat? (Don`t try to say we didn`t give them enough time it was extended to nearly a month with only two applications.. The fact is none of you cared to apply that is plain to see.)

I think i said this before, and I also believe you got pissed last time. But it here you go again:

- Game-guide is a synonym for CC
- Brown letters is something you are rewarded because you need to be able to find other CC-members/game-guides at the forum.
- Editing button is absolutely necesary as you almost never get the post you want to write right the first time.
