as an australian its sad to hear that the chroc hunter has passed away today from a diving accidnet.

I thought he was making a documentary about the great barrier reaf or something regardless now he`s gone and we`ll never see the new show! DarkLands begins to cry. :,(

Achilles - it wasnt during R&R , he was taping a show " Most Dangerous Creatures " ( something close to that title ) Stingrays are as we all now know extremely dangerous, they only use their stinging spines only in self-defense . Poor Steve must have been going in for a better look " Crikey " !!!

consider donating to his wildlife fund and/or australia zoo (in beerwah). the biggest message he tried to get across was his love and respect of wildlife and his work to preserve it in australia and around the world.

I used to love watching him on TV... At least the guy had great life full of adventures and fun and died happy. RIP Steve

... *sniff* Very sad day in America and definately in Australia, I used to love saying Crikey or talk in Australian accent some. A true australian with charisma and great character

Ill miss that guy alot. At least his life was full of fun and adventure and he loved doing what he did, so I believe he died happy :)

It`s ironic that A man who handled some of the most dangerous animals and reptiles in the world for a living was killed by a stingray while he was enjoying some RR. He was a good guy and will be missed by many. I guess this tragedy reminds us how fragile life is and how quickly it can be taken away.

i didnt think it would end that way killed by a stingray considering he goes near some of the worst creautres alive i thought stingrays were harmless
