Archived thread. It was closed and moved to the archive, which is where the board has

Oops, assign more labor, not more planets. Playing both UC & GC at once IS confusing.
Also you need to assign more planets on your planet(s) to Housing to get your max population higher (as long as it is less than total land). Then assign the rest of it to Commercial. Be sure you have enough ore for it though.
If just starting the game, build some housing, then build some commercial. Then research commercial and your income should increase.
Another way is to explore for planets with ore, harvest the ore and then sell it on the market.
Plenty more out there, but those are two to get you started.
