There was some questions floating around about mining infra lvls affecting ore extraction from planets... so i tested it
Mining infra lvls does affect ore extraction.
a miner with 50 lvls in mining extracted 6k ore from a balance
while a miner with 200 lvls in mining extracted 21k ore from a balance
Did some testing

collapsible canes are the best ;-]
*Hands grad his spare

old fact become new myths as the years roll on
I`m with the rest of the old crew o.0 I thought this was common knowledge.
I think I remember from a loooong time ago (2003) when I last played a miner that I did notice a slight increase in ore extraction rates when my mining lvls went up. So noticed because I had no need to cluster icy planets for strip mining.. And I trust EE so yes. Mining lvls affect ore extraction rates.

its not that no one new that, its just a long time ago an ex gc player (now uc guide) was fed some bad info. so after some verbal martial arts we asked EE to test it
like like like
I also did some testing and they all come back the same way BlackStaff is AWESOME lol

you mean nobody knew that? lol
*blinks* Wait...what? People forgot that this happened? o.O Wow, I guess I`ve been here even longer than I thought if that information went out of circulation.
yeah each balance had 1k mining infra allocated on it....
The actual formula is
[(research lvl / 10) + 1] * (amount of mining infrastructure) * (planetary modifier) = amount of ore you will mine per turn
[(research lvl / 10) + 1] * (amount of mining infrastructure) * (planetary modifier) = amount of ore you will mine per turn
you could get it all in 1 turn if u have 1000 mining infra on the planet
or in 10 turns with 100 infra
or in 10 turns with 100 infra
so youre saiyan that if i was a miner and had 50 lvls of mining infra, and i had a balanced planet with 6k ore, i could get all of it in one single turn with one mining building on it?

thats why i have 7 housing and 20 mining, its seems the right amount.
when i make a new c1, by the time i explore 5 new planets to make another c1 (1 turn 1 planet) the 1st c1 has been emptied unless its 6k or more ore

planet mods also increase/decrease the speed
as in a c.2 will mine +20% faster. it`s also the reason u.rich (-50%) takes forever for most people.
but race modifier doesn`t play into ore mining! which is why guardians can be equally good strip miners as a.miner or terran.

it still not worth investing turns into mining unless you plan to strip mine the rest of your empires life.
Good to Know considering I strip mine quite a bit...
