why didnt I get dp ?

Seriously? i was building at the time I wondering if its the delayed attack notice which allows you to build and put yourself back out of Dp without giving you an attack notice , like what happened to me the other week, if so this is getting old and pi$$ing me off i cant have borders if Im not given notice of DP ..... FIX THIS PROBLEM
these things are what drive people away from this game.
I dont use mods or anything

Newbie protection applies as long as an empire has below 5,000 pr. If total pr goes above 5000, newbie protection is lifted and the player is open to attack.

Damage protection (aka dp) is given to empires that sustain 40% or higher fleet casualties. 1 or more planets may be take before dp is given, but it cannot exceed 4 colonies at any time, although 3 is usually the maximum amount of colonies one can lose before receiving dp. Note that one can receive dp after winning a battle, as long as 40% of their fleet is destroyed while defending and only while defending.

ok cool and thanks E.E , Just frustrated, gettin borders and keeping them is difficult and I really trying to stay more than an one planet Terran but I`m not gonna give away my clusters I`d rather plunder them if I cant protect them , i have alot of counters out there and now that i do have planets i am a nice target , so losing more planets than I should really gets me going

No Saga, i`m not saying your making it up, i`m just saying your the only one who`s come forward about it happening to them. if there`s been any more cases i would like to hear about them.

it could be a glitch just with your empire, i really don`t know it wouldn`t be unheard of.

Actually it`s not the mod, it`s the gc itself which does not allow a build to be posted. The error you see is mods` requests failing in the background.

Techinically speaking, this looks to me like a glitch in the game which let to build something and leave dp before the build block comes in place - the block and dp are not tied one to another. This probably comes from poorly designed locking of objects in memory (or in persistance, but I think its memory in this case, i don`t know CF) which does not prevent data spillovers in concurrent situations (in layman terms, gc handles simultainous requests poorly). It happens from time to time, eg, during my first explo UW I once lost 6 (six) planets to get DP - I had no fleet and attacks occured at the same time - guys where refreshing _a lot_ to hit me when my dp expired... There are other glitches like that. In normal situations it will happen from time to time. Concurrecy and multithreading is a pain to implement and a greater hell to fix if done incorrectly in the first place, so I`d not dong, we`d best live with it. I bet it`s not something Stephen could fix without rewriting much of the core codebase...

So okay i got attacked twice more luckily i only lost 2 more planets but i lost 4 planets total without building ships inbetween
After the first attack and after i realized i wasnt given DP i went to build a Starbase it then informed me i was attacked so i didnt build nothing and then i was hit twice more and lost the two planets
I think what is happening here is this im clicking to build as he is attacking and somewhere in there stuff is getting messed up ( like the last time) and im not getting the message till after .
I dont use the mod cause i was told that could cause that. I keep my browser clean i have cable internet , the problem is within the game and it is annoying i realize the staff can DO NOTHING not your fault but Stephens .
I`m not sure i like the line about " Nothing i can do about the issues, especially since it seems to be limited to you atm" Maybe I`m reading this wrong but it seems to imply that I`m making this up or something. I`m not and it has happened to lots of other people this time i lost nothing of value last time i plundered all my planets to avoid losing them , next time who knows the thing is there shouldnt be a NEXT time

Anfit does help. Whether or not you actually get a popup, in shipbuilder you will encounter an error. The mod detects the attack and will not allow ships to be built until YOU click a ship, try to build, then refresh to clear the notice...

had that few times, and infact have benefited from it

Must be a loophole or glitch in the code as to be fair it doesn;t happen very often

Just be thankful you didnt lose anything serious !

Nothing i can do about the issues, especially since it seems to be limited to you atm.

the only times i`ve ever had things like this happen to me was because my browser was blocking the attack warning popup and because it was blocking the popup the game thought that i was clearing it out myself and allowed me to keep building.

Most likely a browser issue Saga. Where it will send the pop-up and have it canceled, but you will still be able to build anyway.

Weird indeed, i use Anfit and have not been the victim of any of these bugs as of yet....
