Empire UW (Normal)

First, congrats to EMPIRE. It was fun defending, possibly the first time I`ve helped defend a UW (cant remember).

Second, I`d say the Mob did a great job of trying to knock it down with limited members and resources. Obviously some powerful players being in VM and Historia`d was key.

Third/last, I know there are some hard feelings between certain players, and hey, compared to most of you i`m still a newb, I dont quite have all the history. But we are still just talking about a game, a game where we are all pretty much hiding behind our computers/phones/ipads and can do or say or be whoever we want. There is bound to be deception, conflict, etc, even sometimes unintentional. I`d hate to see all that take away the fun from anyone, so maybe we can all tone it down a bit. Hmm, that sounded too preachy. Ok, I`m out. Looking forward to more fun on the battlefield.

Well done, EMPIRE. I know you probably should have had one ages ago, but you got yours in time. Nice job capitalizing on an opportune moment. Good luck in real life!

First and foremost, many thanks to all the supporters of this UW, within and out of the Fed!
But most of all, I would like to reserve my most profound gratitude to Stephen who single-handedly created this game. Of course, he had help later on from close friends and players. Unbelievably - this game has literally kept me up hours on end and I cant describe how much it has help me throughout these years…

Since I started playing in 2003, this is my only real attempt at UW. Most of the time, it was more of a supportive role. Looks like it was a long 9-year wait :)
Many thanks to the window of opportunity accorded by our powerful opponents which allow my pathetic fleet to succeed.

oh and nice attempt to bring it down to the 3 who attempted to do so and the 1 or more who supplied the btc.

all those historias used at the start played a big part as well as the timing.

ohh i`m an 03/04 MK :) i don`t have my original account anymore :( ... nevertheless congrats on the uw, i couldn`ve done more damage if i had some btc`s but oh well

@ Ren, A few of us started in 05` into MK, but ive been playing since 04` ... so yes, however considering the infighting is only been two people in the 7 years of my past in M|K. I consider that a good track record. Are you basing it on the RT MK or the Slow MK as that would be way two different feds.

UTU has had a rough times, I recall having like all those splinter feds ... was quite a headache to help manage given Xeno Terra was the first large UTU fed from my bad memory of it all.

Yea, so the Teamwork thing on UT in BR was not MK, but it was lead by DM. So can we say it was MK Led, but the rest were not MK but followed his plans? The thing is MK is such a loose term these days because of when we talk different servers, only true MKers that are left are like 4 people (pre 05` according to Ren). So ... given player atrophy and all that it was bound to the slow death of this game. Invitations were sent out over the years. Just like other feds over time invite people over or apply. But meh, everyone has their opinions on the fed`s successes over the years. Whether it be on Slow to RT.

I take back some of what I said...I forget that your empire is older than what it really is.

Trust me, I`ve been in that situation several times when UTU was around. You should have seen the ideological and political infighting in UTU back in the day. I barely managed to keep Ching from branching off into his own group because of the wonky things EPrussia sometimes said.

Good work UFP. Hey, I`ve always complimented you guys on your organization, so it`s totally acceptable to say something like: UFP has solid team fundamentals.

Don`t forget though that it is really true that you are your worst enemy. And by extension, a team is it`s worst enemy as well. Don`t be quick to judge others until you have been in a similar situation of conflict between team members. Conflict resolution is just such an important skill to have these days.

Omeg, you`re probably right. There will always be flaming on UW threads it seems. I may as well enjoy the infighting with MOB and thank my lucky stars that we don`t have these issues in UFP. It`s funny to hear GW, fuzzy and DM talk about teamwork when UFP is the one truly demonstrating it, and not them.

Congratulations to EMPIRE, he appears to be in a great position; just awaiting the final countdown and obligatory button press. :D

I wouldn`t say things are better for the server, because quite frankly it doesn`t make a difference who`s in charge as long as the people in charge are UWing.

Oh, and I wouldn`t expect you not to take advantage of me VMing either. The beautiful thing about this UW is that I am totally okay with it since there was little I could do to oppose and it got the mob to waste their artis and show us how spiteful and unfriendly some of them really are(to the rest of the server, not posting intel after hits...angry comments in the UW thread etc). So thank you UFP.

GW you are correct this uw would not have happened right now as it has at this pr if you and fuzzy were not kicked but you were and you vmed and built and vmed and built and vmed so we took advantage of this and are not sorry for it. the balance of power has shifted enough to make this server not a 1 fed dominate server. things are the beter for it.

Omeg you seem to know more than most or at least me. did someone whisper into the admins ear something about Empire which they found to be untrue or could not prove? if so was it you? if so care to share it with me :)

So don`t get me started on teamwork, because MK has no idea what teamwork is in the broader sense. There exists a very narrow definition of teamwork that MK excels in, but that`s it.

All this kicking has shown me is that MK is essentially a bunch of old folks who are distrustful of anyone that hasn`t played with them prior to 2005 or so.

Not that there`s anything wrong with that. But I was invited to join MK in the first place, I never applied. There was a time where I was very close every almost everyone in MK. Made some great friendships, and I know most of you pretty well. But it`s unfortunate that there exists such paranoia and xenophobia within a `few` core members of MK leadership. I have always been the outsider, and when the time came...I was treated worse than how MK treats it`s enemies.

ask anyone in UFP and chances are they will admit that the only real reason why EMPIRE was able to UW this time around was because I was kicked, generating a shift in the balance of power on normal server. With so little people playing the game nowadays, 2 empires can make a big difference.

You don`t know anything about me, and we have rarely worked together before so your words mean nothing.

Meh, "still failed" and "at least did something" are two very different meanings. I have gotten sick of this whole "team player" discussion. I mean, you say one thing and act another GW. No one can really trust your agendas as you only work with a select few, by few I mean 1, and by one I mean you, yourself and that other person.

Also, people discussed long and hard why you and Fuzzy were kicked. Not just one issue was brought up about this. So ... as I just used to sit and watch you say this or say that. I never really saw much action with those words. (Excluding this UW), but from past scenarios on multiple servers. It just was never making sense and that is why in my opinion you deserved the kick you did.

Anyhow ... congrats on the UW, but meh just not worth all the going around admin for it. I doubt we will ever hear the truth of all this from Empire himself, but it would shed some light onto the a few things still in this game.

Honestly I would like Admin`s inputs on this matter as well, even if Empire is retiring I really dislike the non-transparency of this issue. Because lets say something like this happend in the past. That UW would never have happend under Treg, but that is me dreaming.

But meh, I suspect a 0.01% chance in all this.
