You can also increase turns with paid account. Very nice advantage in both total turns available and speed of turn regeneration.

Turns regenerate naturally over time.
the fastest turn regeneration occurs on the RT game-speed
You are allowed one account per game-speed.
You can also increase turns by using turn giving artifacts known as time capsules.
Time capsules can occasionally be found whilst excavating planets (normally between 6.31 and 7.00 PM server time) or they can also be fused using the capsule lab project from other artifacts.
