Hello, I used to play this game a few years ago but could not really catch on to it. Labratmaze was the one who got me started on it. Anyway, I wanted to pass along the very sad news that Labratmaze passed away on Christmas day. He loved this game very much. He was unable to get out much and space fed helped to ocuppy a lot of his time. If you could pass this along to any that he may have called friend I know he as well as I would be grateful. Thank you.

Labrat was a really nice guy, so this is truly sad news, he will be missed alot by many who classed him as a friend.

AlphaCentauri - I sent you the message because I wanted all the leaders of each fed he was a member of to be aware that he had passed. I tried to send a message to the leader of your fed but it would not go through for whatever reason.

I will certainly miss him as he was truly a great friend. As a fellow gamer (I`m a Weewar man) I knew that he had made some friends here and I would hate to think of any of you left hanging at his disappearance. He and I used to work in a Lab together before he retired and became really good friends. He was 20 years older than I so he kind of became like a big brother to me. I would visit him every month or so and every time I came around he would help me through my latest crisis whether he realized I had one or not. I can still remember him sitting in his computer chair with Space Fed in the background on his monitor. Not long after hurricane Irene hit our coastal area, (North Carolina) I went to see him for what i did not know was the last time. He told me that he had gone to the emergency room during the hurricane (he had some breathing issues and was on oxygen) but that he was doing much better and he seemed like the same ole Larry. Before I left he asked to shake my hand and said "just in case I don`t see you again". How I wish now I would have hugged him! It is a void that will never be filled for me I`m afraid. I know now that I have a much better appreciation of what friends I have living and will be sure to let them know how I feel about them. Anyway, due to his oxygen use, he was unable to get out much and Space Fed was something that filled many hours of his time as some of you may well know. Thanks again guys.

I don`t know what to say, really... Jammer texted me earlier and told me about it, and all I could think to reply was "That`s a **** shame." But it didn`t sink in for a few hours, and didn`t hit home until right now.

I feel horrible. I used to talk to him all the time, and he gave me great advice when I needed it, but since I`m rarely online I have hardly spoken to him for the past year or so. How I wish I had taken just ten minutes out of my day some time in the past year to have talked to him one extra time. I feel sick to my stomach just reading about all of this.

Rest in peace Labrat. Thanks for the good advice when I was younger and dumber. We will all miss you.

RIP mate. Though we have been opposing side for most time in GC, you have always been friendly. Have great time battling with you and working with you for short period of time. One of the best terran I must say. An irreplaceable lost to GC and to the community. A great player, fighter, and above all with a nice character and personality. Regret not having time chatting you for quite some time due to my inactiveness in GC.

You will always be remembered. All the best to you no matter where you are now. A sad day for GC and for me.

RIP Labratmaze... you will be missed. I remember those days in CC where you used to share battle tactics as a Terran, my 1st race. It`s been a while since I have played, yet I remembered you as one of the greatest fedmate. May your family find peace!

Labratmaze aka larry.. a great friend, long time loyal fedmate, and amazing fighter..

It`s still very hard to accept.. even right now i wish and hope he will just login and tell us this was all a sick joke but i know that won`t happen.

In his death we have all lost a great man, player, friend, and fedmate or enemy.. For alot of us his loss has left a hole which won`t be filled.. For those of you who didn`t know him then i`m not sure what to say other then i`m sorry you never got the chance to know the man..

I still remember back when i first met lab which was back when he first joined CC in 2005 or 2006.. and i`d say from that day on he basically became one of CC`s most important members loyal, nice, and highly effective skilled fighter who got better as the years went on..

There`s not really too much i can say that hasn`t been said but i felt it important to post something..

Lab we all miss you and i`m sure i speak for alot of people here when i say you were family to us.

Toon i personally would like to thank you for taking the time to inform us what happened.. it would have been much worse for us to suddenly have him go inactive without ever knowing..

I`ve also take it upon myself to vac Lab`s accounts because having them just deleted and forgotten doesn`t feel right or respectful.. Given that i would like to ask the fedleaders of the feds lab is in to please leave him as long as your feds exist.

Lab, you were one hell of a Terran, best I ever knew, maybe the best there ever will be. More than that you were a one of a kind, truly a great person, a man among boys. It was such an honor to have been your leader, mate and friend for so many years. I am sorry that I was not here for your final days with us. I hope your family can find peace and learn to accept your loss, as we all must. Goodbye old friend, you will be sorely missed by many.

UberPansy - Toon and toon94 are one and the same. I could not reactivate my old account so I started an new one but was told Toon was too short.

I have a couple of stories to put into perspective about how he felt about this game and its players. A few years ago his daughter called me and left his Space Fed password on my answering machine. She asked if I could put his accounts in vacation mode. I called her back and it turns out he had been admitted to the hospital for a couple of days. He was an avid fan to say the least. Another time, he called me all excited because he had just attacked someone and got (as best I remember) 3 cluster of planets worth about 25 planets each I think (or some such). Anyway he, asked his "victim" if he`d like to get those planets back because he knew how much time and effort he had put into collecting them. I don`t recall the empire`s name but that is how generous he was.

Thanks once again to everyone for your kind words about Larry in the forum. It is of great comfort to me to read all the posts from everyone. Larry did truly love this game and all the interactions with the players he met. Every time I saw him he would tell me a story about the game and some funny something someone would say. All of you were his outside contact for a man that could seldom leave home.

50 Online players, however, I think he touched not only in this gaming, but I am sure in other gaming communities as well so more than just 50 gamers I bet.

No matter if a game dies, this community has shown somewhat life to live by its own self whether through these forums or some other type of communication method *googtwitbook* being one of them. Might be a reason to make sure that darn group on there is updated *glares*

An empire named Toon used to be a member of The Chosen Few, and I had the pleasure of hosting Labratmaze in the same federation. I never came to know him like some of you have, and while it`s easy to see an empire pass, losing the person behind it leaves us with a profound sense of loss.

I think it`s extraordinary that someone would think to contact our little community, particularily in the face of tragedy, but thank you for doing so.

I am very upset about this. this is not the news anyone should have at christmas. As Last Emperor of UTU having many UTU members on my FB i have put it up as a status and tagged them all to the page of condoslance. Duke Emmoc Ristar Ching etc all the old guard of UTU have been told i hardly play this game much anymore but I still play for my friends and labratemaze was one of them
