Hello, I used to play this game a few years ago but could not really catch on to it. Labratmaze was the one who got me started on it. Anyway, I wanted to pass along the very sad news that Labratmaze passed away on Christmas day. He loved this game very much. He was unable to get out much and space fed helped to ocuppy a lot of his time. If you could pass this along to any that he may have called friend I know he as well as I would be grateful. Thank you.

Labrat was a really nice guy, so this is truly sad news, he will be missed alot by many who classed him as a friend.

AlphaCentauri - I sent you the message because I wanted all the leaders of each fed he was a member of to be aware that he had passed. I tried to send a message to the leader of your fed but it would not go through for whatever reason.

I will certainly miss him as he was truly a great friend. As a fellow gamer (I`m a Weewar man) I knew that he had made some friends here and I would hate to think of any of you left hanging at his disappearance. He and I used to work in a Lab together before he retired and became really good friends. He was 20 years older than I so he kind of became like a big brother to me. I would visit him every month or so and every time I came around he would help me through my latest crisis whether he realized I had one or not. I can still remember him sitting in his computer chair with Space Fed in the background on his monitor. Not long after hurricane Irene hit our coastal area, (North Carolina) I went to see him for what i did not know was the last time. He told me that he had gone to the emergency room during the hurricane (he had some breathing issues and was on oxygen) but that he was doing much better and he seemed like the same ole Larry. Before I left he asked to shake my hand and said "just in case I don`t see you again". How I wish now I would have hugged him! It is a void that will never be filled for me I`m afraid. I know now that I have a much better appreciation of what friends I have living and will be sure to let them know how I feel about them. Anyway, due to his oxygen use, he was unable to get out much and Space Fed was something that filled many hours of his time as some of you may well know. Thanks again guys.

i fought with him for a while in CC a couple of years ago. i remember having a good conversation with him when we discovered each other`s ages, 15 and 60 at the time. he was a nice man and it is sad news to hear he has passed away.

My deepest condolences to all friends and family of Larry - we have had some epic times on this game and also in conversation. Where ever you are now, I hope things are perfect.

I can`t say that I had any real dealings with LabRat but the outpouring of affection and honest sense of loss felt by many here go to prove that we are ALL truly family here , and altho we might not all get along "Gamewise" it`s heartening to see everyone pull together.
Rest in Peace Lab you will not be forgotten.

Just seen this and can`t believe how much an interaction on a game with someone can effect you in real life. This is truly very sad news. I have not talked to lab in the last year or so, but we used to battle it out all the time and have good conversations while doing it. Very friendly player and held no grudges and I am sure a great guy in real life. A huge loss.

I posted once already, but I just had a quick thing that I remember, it still makes me laugh. I`ve always fought against him and CC, and this one particular time was no different. Lab was well over 30mil pr and I was climbing up after him, and he kept climbing right up till I got to within 5 mil pr of him, then he paused. I figured, `now`s my chance`, and starting building as furiously as I could(this was of course well before the update in build rates). Well I didnt even wait till I was +129 on him, it was closer to +110, but I figured for sure he was leading Hercs. I came in leading Hun Li, and much to my dismay was, Odin?! What the?! Who builds and leads with Odin(of course he was stacked perfectly) when they are over 30mil pr?! So needless to say, after I picked myself off the bottom of the server floor and saw I had no fleet, I had to PM him and congratulate him, but also ask him how he could have those ships in his fleet. His response: lol, surprise :) Yep, I`m gonna miss him...RIP

Labrat was a good player and has a great character. though we are most of the time enemies in the game but he is very polite and is a gentleman in battles. he even taught me a thing or two as terran. gives me advice and he even gave me the assurance of support if i need any help, all i have to do is ask him. I have made a lot of friends here in GC and there are those that you`d be able to remember for a lifetime and Labrat was one of those kind. Rest in Peace my friend.

HB i hear you, i keep checking this thread every few hours hoping to see a post from Labrat asking what all this is about or a pm on ultra in response to 1 sent him on christmas day or eve. Things will not be the same without him.

BW his empire on fast will be in my fed for as long as it exists for sure.

Forget about the game - Larry was a great player but above that he was a great person. He was probably the wisest character in I have met in this game. R.I.P. my friend.

I`ve spoken to him rarely... but the times that i did, he was always friendly, mature, and funny. I respected him a lot for the advice he would give me, and for the sincerity with which he spoke with.

My regret is not getting to know him better. A huge loss for the GC community, he will be missed.

this seems to have hit all of us the same, whether we knew him a lot or a little in game and out. I knew him as a great player, rival, but nothing personally. Still, this hit me pretty hard. Like someone else said, this might happen to tons of players who disappear but we just dont know. The reality of knowing what happened though is devastating. But putting the game aside, I hope he had a great life, friends, family, and he`s resting in peace.

Funny when you think of things like this, but I guess we`ve been acquaintances, and yes I think friends, for six years. Will miss you.

Labrat -- I`m sad I never learned much about your real life Larry -- was worthy of respect: not a cheater, not a whiner, and had your back.

We`ve all aged along with the game, but Labrat was always noticeably mature and loyal -- also pretty funny :)

Rest in peace and love.
