1) I have two picks for this category -
A) BadWolf, and not because he holds 1100 planets, he merely has that because it is/was convenient for him. I choose BadWolf because he understands this game on a level almost no one else ever has before. Now, most of the players that have been around since 2003 know how to stack, and understand that oftentimes many people use the same stack or types of stack and so you can predict them.
BW takes this to a whole `nother level. He understands every race and every ship in the game. He understands how nearly everyone plays, and keeps in mind what and how they would build, and then bases this on everyone around him as well.
In short, for all the accusations, he does not need to be a staff member to win fights. He was one of the best fighters on RT long before he was even a Guide, and he has only gotten better. For those of you who have had the opportunity to fight alongside him, you understand what I am saying, and perhaps even for some of you more open-minded non-sheep who fight him.
BadWolf is what you should aspire to be should you wish to dominate GC.
My second pick is Labratmaze. He knows much the same things as BadWolf, and is the most devastating Terran stacker I have ever witnessed during my long history in this game. He also manages to do something BadWolf cannot seem to:
Play nearly all of the turn-based servers to great effect as well as being a huge force on Real-Time.
2) This without a doubt has to go to ShatterdDreams. He has spearheaded nearly all of the major updates throughout the year, many of which have changed the gameplay of GC dynamically, and in my opinion for the better. Much of the ship updates, the build rate increase that is now in effect, balancing etc he put a ton of work in to.
He also has been spearheading the handling of events, such as Trick & Treat on Halloween, and has handled some of the recent compensation efforts. As our newest admin he has quite the resume alre
