Federation wars

Ok i know this would be alot of work and we will 99.9% never see it happen but, my idea is this. Actual Fed wars, were instead of a single person targeting a member of a different federation, each member of the fed contributes x amount of their fleet PR to the fed which can be used by the leader to hit the whole of another fed.
Or the other thing could be a federation based joint fleet, max of say 20stacks that every member can give ships towards but members must pay "fed fees" to the upkeep of the ships and all ships are kept in fed pr and seperated from individual members pr.

Or just do what Sibiriangun always does, create a fed and ask 4 member(easily u can get some newbies to join) then declare on which ever fed u feel like wan to.

although i dont like the idea of a fed just climbing to max fed PR and avoiding fed wars, upkeep mechanics might be useful. trouble with upkeep is that its based off the turn concept, and feds dont have turns and have no use for turns. if we give them uses for turns, who is responsible for using them? the leader? anyone who is online?

i dont like those ideas. it puts the credits and colonies of the members on the line, and they already deal with this normally in the game. they either encourage many powerful small feds (sounds like the DM server) or at least would drive many of the powerful members out of their current feds.

it should be volunteer, encourage participation by having a worthwhile outcome (fed war, no more declaring fed war, you have to want it), and independant of normal gameplay but still similar (fed on fed action only, no individual players dominating the fed rankings, which would replace the fed list id imagine)

And lets have these uber fleets fight against one another. The colonies won will be multiplied by the members present XD.... So if one fed one 3, they win 3 from each member XD...... So having smaller federation is actually better in this case. *this is the future of UC llol.... and by all means i say we mustn`t even think about adding any system like that at all.

Yes lets do something new that makes the top players OP again.
Step 1 : gather the richest players together to fund a massive uber fleet
Step 2 : have the other half mostly Viral / Guard / Maru build massively OP cheap ships
Step 3 : keep other feds from forming their own uber fed fleet so knock them down daily & all is good.
Plus lets see if stephen can break the game for months on end before he can fix it again without all of us dying first.

A `fed fleet" as White has suggested may work if the details were better flushed out. Not a bad concept though. Maybe enable a fed to "tax` members ( a percentage of earnings.?) for fleet upkeep, put the Fleet in "charge" of a designated member (perhaps a Defense Minister?) ... and for each defeat the entire fed cedes a bit of loot to the winning fed. Say 1% of total credits, or perhaps of minerals ...that each member has stashed.

to make it hurt to attack and lose, a fed attacks and loses? 2% of the loot transfers to the successful defender. Also, have any war "temporary" ... 10 attacks limit and it`s only fed fleet versus Fed fleet. .

And keep the current PR attack ratios for individual attacks on empires.

Or just do what Backoff always does when you can use fed war on him... quit your fed and rejoin whenever you get on top again.

Thepakistaniempire; I havent played Unification wars and probably never will so i dont know how their feds work but from my point of view, changing the way fed wars work would open up a whole new dimension of the game, make feds be more competitive and possibly have more people get paids for wanting to open their own fed.
I still havent sorted out all the mechanics of how it would work but imagine having 3-5 full 21 member feds duking it out to try and use/destroy ultimate weapons. You could change the way feds have rankings, ie leader becomes general then colonel then lieutenant etc, and when the Ultimate weapon goes off each member loses less of his fleet and money/minerals based on their rank inside the fed while everyone else gets the normal wipe and each member gets a bonus starting at say 1 week paid/ 1 gordo, and getting greater reward as you go up ranks to the leader.
This idea is just meant to open up the game to having more to do and making it more competitive.

whiteknight, teach them a lesson by defeat them few times on a row, follow by a surprise fed war change.(u need fed leader to be online and do tat..).....i m sure he will be pissed for at least the whole night!

White that sounds like Unification wars, and its not-smart, Why don`t you try stacking, and implementing fodder and other nuetral ships to be able to win.

i know itll never happen, but itd be nice if it were done like a standalone event: every 4 hours a fed would lose its DP. all players contribute ships (pay for them but they get sent to the "federation"s fleet. there is no upkeep. feds can attack each other from 200% above and below, just like regular fed wars. victory takes 50% defender fleet loss to win or lose. if the attacking fed wins, they are granted "fed war bonus" (+-200%), if the defender wins, they are granted the bonus instead. the bonus lasts 24 hrs and a fed can do it as many times as itd like. feds can even chose to come back out of DP and counterattack (no restrictions) and then both sides would have the war

lol apollo, my reason is this, im tired of losing fights, not because i had my fleet stacked wrong but that when i was in fed some1 was hitting from way above me with a mass spam, ive used a couple of the battle calculators out there and about 80% of the time i would have won if hit from normal 130% if my stacks the same and they were using same spam at the 130% power cap.
Having feds that had their own seperate fleets would mean they could get rid of individual fed war power gap changes and provide another attacking option. Feds could only use the joint fleet against other feds and not against singular members except when UWs are being used, but if a fed made an UW then the fed could put the fed fleet to defend the person making it, sorta like slave empire configuration where master can send reinforcements.
