In my ponderings of old age, having restarted as Collective due to the upgraded shipbuilds... it occurred to me why do Collectives only have 8 attacking ships ?
A.Miner have 14
Terran have 14
Guardian have 13
Marauder have 14
Virals have 11 ( 2 +9 engineered ships)
The amount of ships I have affects my stacking permutations ( though to be fair i can rarely be bothered these days )
Not a complaint merely an observation not sure if anyone else would like to add their 2 cents ?
Would be very interested to hear the staffs view on this ? ( hopefully members of staff who have a clue... name no names haha)
Thanks

that has happened to me multiple times on ultra :( i`ve burned through so much cash after hitting some miners when I suddenly have -15 million per turn

have to admit that I love doing that too ashy. I also like to replace their fleet with something really expensive and watch them just sort of sit there confused.
Collectives almost always have bark or galleons in the top stack so they can get a nice capture on a spam.
For this reason, I love spamming dumb ships against collectives even if I lose.

@AC i have 3 range 9 or more missle ships....but im RT lol
can we get a range 9 missile ship? perhaps edit the barkentine? its the only race without one (except virals of course)
well collectives have always had a small shiplist, i didn`t design the race initially but we did add on the corsair and the MoW ( which is still a big mistake...not my doing ^^ or idea)
but collectives seem to do will with having such few ships, plus they have a pretty quality ship list, not to mention every one of their ships have the option to capture and the H class is the only class with 100% capture still. also they can supplement their racial ships with neutrals.
i don`t exactly see the point of giving them more ships, but i`m not ruling out that option or saying they don`t need them
thats my personal 4 cents (you get more for your money with me)

I`m not an admin. I didnt decide on the shiplists.
But I believe that there is the idea that colls can capture ships, and hence they don`t need such an extensive shiplist.

The other pondering that accurred after this , is in my experience Collectives are often compared to Marauders, both being plundering races primarily, less colony space, killable HW`s and primarily offensive races
So surely the shiplist should reflect this ?
If Collectives were to have any parity with Marauders , then saying the H.Man of War matches up with a Marauder Battleship, then Collectives should have :-
- 1 more fighter class
- 1 more destroyer class
- 2more cruiser class
- 1 more battleship
Please note i am not arguing about the pros and cons of the individual ship make ups, power etc, merely parity in terms of ship numbers, attacking options etc
