I`m in the market for a new phone upgrading from my current Blackberry. I`ve been told to stick with Blackberry ... the Motorola Bold 9600 series. In theory best for phone and OK for the `net. While I know my friends have issues with durability and phone capability using the Apple I Phone (sucks big time as a phone and seemingly they are always dealing with issues).

So...any advice?

By far the best cell phone ever made was the Motorola DynaTAC aka the "brick."

Well...I`m not one to support Chinese ripping off with knockoffs and not playing by the rules...

X --- I`m a dinosaur myself. (I am probably the only one playing this game who knows not only what a sliderule is, but how to use one ;). The job is remote office, heavy use of phone and computer (not just email). I also use the same phone for personal use. I travel a lot...GPS, checking the markets, researching while at airports and waiting for meeting times to hit. Little texting, lots of emails. Lots of downloads of papers and files. Get`s tossed around a lot and I burn through battery life (I carry one spare since it`s hard to recharge sometimes). Last bill had over 3,000 minutes talk time used. Unlimited data plan so I have no idea about the actual usage there (though a few hours a week playing this game while sitting in an airport:)

BB works good as a phone, keys are small and screen isn`t exactly large either.

Chinese ripoff of other high-end smartphones, only for half the price. Spec-wise comparable to any other $500-$600 smartphone, except this one retails for $200-$300. Reviews are pretty positive about it too.
And if you`re conserned about your image, sporting chinese rip-offs and all, it simply says `Google` on the back =P

I got two phones. One i got from my workplace and the other is my private phone.

Privately i use a iPhone 3. The browser is really functional. Touch screen is working really well. But of course it is a bit more vulnerable.

The workphone is some old dinasaur Blackberry. Think its name is curve 8900. It is really good for checking my mail, and I think it is better to use when talking. On the other hand the browser isn`t that functional and it doesnt have touch screen, and the screen is way smaller. But i think its more robust. It depends what your needs is i think.

On an HTC Desire HD here: absolutely wonderful piece of equipment; use it for everything, and well, you gotta love android and freedom to do whatever you want with a phone.
But ofc, if I were to buy one now, it would be the HTC Sensation.

Either way, there`s no such thing as the `best phone`, there is however such a thing as, `the best phone for you`. Tell us a bit of what you look/care for in a phone & we`ll give you proper suggestions.
