Alright this thread is about movies that the majority of people would say are among the greatest movies of all time. The movies that everyone talks about when they come out, that become the highlight of conversations every where. you hear about them nonstop until they finally die out. Movies that, while not necessarily being "epic movies" in the literal term, have a big impact on the community`s social network.

Some movies don`t live up to the hype, others exceed it. Let me know your opinions on movies like this and whether or not you thought they were an Epic Movie or an Epic Fail :)

I will get it started with two highly talked about movies I`ve saw fairly recently.

First, Inception. Some would say that it keeps you guessing, that the plot keeps you asking "wtf?" People everywhere talk about how hard the movie is to follow and how you have to watch it more than once to get what`s going on. I saw it only to be disappointed. In one of the opening scenes the ENTIRE movie is clearly explained. There was literally no mystery, nothing to second guess. It was, from beginning to end, a really simple movie to follow with absolutely nothing that stood out as "mysterious" or confusing. This movie was good, in the sense that it was worth watching if you like movies, but far from epic. = Epic Fail

Ishamael your lame attempt at a joke missed one very important aspect, my face is not widely hyped up. So it cannot be an epic fail. Don`t quit your day job mate

I have heard so much hype about this next movie that it is ridiculous. Everyone who saw it said it was just the greatest thing ever and I had to see it. In fact, some of my friends frequently tried pressuring me into watch it and hounded me for not seeing it. It is acclaimed the best movie of all time. If you haven`t guessed, I am referring to Avatar.

I saw it just now, which is what made me decide to make this thread. The opening scene left me eager to see what happened next and that feeling remained throughout the entire movie. The scenery was spectacular, the creatures were intriguing, and the whole experience (yes, experience) was incredible. I found myself actually CARING about the characters, good and bad, I could connect with them and understand them. They were believable and the premise of the story touched home on a lot of real world problems. It makes you think and, also, makes you rather disgusted with humanity, at least it did me. This movie definitely lived up to the hype in my opinion. I had the misfortune of watching it with the satellite cutting in and out at times, causing me to miss and have to re-watch about 30 minutes here and there, and that STILL didn`t keep me from being drawn into the movie. I really couldn`t begin to pick a favorite scene, beginning to end I was captivated and intrigued. This movie is an Epic in both the context of this thread and in the actual term of = Epic Movie

I will now join the many people that told me, if you haven`t already saw it, Do So Now! You won`t regret it. =)
