Time To Re-Re-Verse

if its a discomfort in changing everyone`s ship lists because its a long and boring process to do so
well maybe the owner of the game should pay his admins. then they would make these kind of things a priority and not, yeh lets see if we have time...saying this, assuming admins on gc servers are not paid...i do not know for certain.
but i agree with AM and also you pay to play this game, that alone should say everything...people invest time and money to play this game and keep it alive, they should get what they request. the players are the customer not the other way around.

Since years ppl scream to nerv Virals... Which I think every1 remembers... That was done and although I truly mis my Angels it was a good decision.... However nowadays not only Viral got nerved but other races received some changes. Grantweep is completely right that du to this fact now Viral cannot choose anymore their ships they simply have to deal with it or restart.

Maybe one could set a dateline... that empires older then 500 or 700 days are allowed to RE-RE ships again to a limited amount.... U cannot honestly expect Viral empires to restart if they are that old.... A lot of Viral`s have not only put effort and time in their empires but Gordo`s etc as well for wut they even paid for... At the end this helps the game to survive

I think Virals should be allowed to Reverse 5 ships !!!

Personally i can`t see what all this hoo-haa is about. I was an a.miner once. Didn`t like the ships, restarted as terran. Ships were good, but i wanted guardian ships - i plundered a 25k large, a 2k fert and a 2 land spaz and went guardian. Who cares you`re viral? Want other ships? Restart, just like the rest of us. Any restart is painful, of course, but we all have to do it. HH already made the point, i just gave an example.

Oh, and AM, really sorry mate, but if your ship stats are changing, doesn`t that mean that the stats also change for the race from which you got that ship? - i think you catch my drift ;)

If ever i were to use maru or colls next time.. Im going for the ships yes but more so the appeal is due to less people playing.. The way i need to hunt for borders being non~explorable race.. And to have first hand at the tweaks that had been implemented in the past..

Other races chose their ships by choosing their race.

Plus all virals knew when they picked their ships that the choices are permanent, that they will be stuck with those ships until they die or restart, this was no secret, it has always been this way.

There was only one time in the history of the game that this was different and that had to happen so that Virals could replace their D class ships.

In short, if a Viral doesn`t like the ships they selected for themselves, on their own free will, too bad. It was their choice and they must live with it. And just like every other race, if virals wish to change the decision they made they will have to restart.

People don`t seem to realize that no other race gets to chose their ships either to "begin with". This is an ability unique to virals. Choice and versatility, is an inherent part of the race which backs up AM`s argument. Seeing as how they have some real big handicaps, they deserve to be able to chose any 3 ships of their choice from maru/terran/miner.

The only argument I`ve read read so far that support`s the `No` side, is the fact that such shiplist resets are prone to abuse, inefficient, and could potentially discourage ship balancing.

Also, mb virals are good on RT, whatever. But they are just average on TB.

This is funny, as this is how I see the entire thread atm :

Virals : Man we`re so poor, and underpowered , and just we`re sad with our selection of ships... Lets allow us to re-choose our ships because that`d be nice...

Everyone else : uhm, no one else gets to ` change ` their ships, why should you?

I should note, we did do the viral ship reset, that was when we banned D ships and the G ships from viral ship lists, even though some still abused it. It took months for admins to deal with it, though it was a gradual trickle rather than working all the time. So in a sense, its not that big of a project anymore because of how BW set up that system to work. It was quick and most things were done actually within days when he had a huge list at first from all those non-vm people, than it turned to be like 1-2 every dew days.

As for the ship changes, they are miniscule, ships are still ships, if one sucks another in your list is probably compensated one way or another or just dont use it. Restarting imo, sure let me restart my 2 year old empire on fast that had 7 c3s, no thanks ... thats the most not-smart thing to say to a turn-based player. Sure, go restart on RT if you want, but thats still not-smart but then again, you dont really take into account certain empires age and what all they have on that empire.
