A Mineral Shortage Fix

So I thought of a fix, well somewhat, to the shortage of minerals. At least something that might cancel out the largest problems related to such.

The largest problem being that New players cannot find enough minerals to build ships. These players don`t need a ton of minerals, most of the wealthier empires wouldn`t even notice if the amount they need was taken from their supplies.

So two things we, as players, can do to help.

The first being don`t buy any small intervals \ posts of minerals on the market, leave those for the newer \ poorer empires. I mean really what is another 100k minerals when you have 10, 20, 100+ million already.

Secondly, we could all start randomly posting small amounts of minerals. IE 100k of each, ever day, or every other day, even once a week or so would help.

If all of the wealthier empires posted small amounts randomly and none of them bought any small amounts, there would almost always be at least some minerals for the younger empires to help them get started.

This would require the cooperation of nearly all mature empires on the server...... but I think it could really help.

The main problem is lack of players. Mineral mining is plenty profitable and ships mods have been done to better miner ships in hopes of encouraging more miners. We could remove tax mining, which might help.... but that`s sort of a lame fix. Reducing the mineral cap would probably help, but if reduced too much it could make UW"s difficult for miners and terrans, as they require heavy resources.

thanks HB...every lttle bit counts lol...bought one of each passed the rest up for others...and i am a returning player Hb and i remember i guess the good ol times cause there was always stacks and stacks of minerals on market..to the point that the price used to be in the mid 800s...dont know what changed exactly but since ive been back seen nothing of the sort..thought mabey i started in middle of a hoarding war or something. Sad to hear its a ongoing problem though...hope they at leaste implament BM again or something... mabey a cap reduction is in order to force mineral posts...or mabey raise max price you can post it to make more profitable?..

haha well those lasted all of a few minutes

Well I started the trend just now, I hope no empires that already have stockpiles of minerals buys them.... if they do I might just have to use some artifacts.

You are welcome Brother, and you are not the only one, this problem has plagued the game for years.... I think this option could help, but like I said it would take the cooperation of most players so unfortunately it is probably not a feasible option.

No bucket you are right it would be nice to have mins out there all the time.Ive been market stalking for days and just now hit 1 mill of mins each. Thats nothin as it take hundred thousand or so to build 15-20 mill fleet...which i would love to do daily but cant due to lack of mins..if you guys want new blood up there little higher in ranks listen to this man and try tofind some way to make posting minerals more appealing or something..thanks HB for bringing this up was starting to think i was only one to notice or be effected by this problem..:)

Give one active member the privilege for kalzul.... Kalzul`s remarkable mineral generation can supply the server... OR just wait on me lol....

What not very smart idea Bucket Of Honey, just keep your ideas to yourself for now on please.

Pete, very true.... but it takes a while to build these habits, such as stalking the market, plus a lot of newer players aren`t always spending a lot of time playing and if you only play an hour or so a day it`s tough to find minerals.

I think it would be nice for those new players to just find a few minerals on the market just about any time they need it.

Ear, yeah BM helps, but I am just trying to think of something us players can do to help out the newer players.

It`s easy for us all to make suggestions for Stephen or staff to do something..... but it`s important for us players to make contributions ourselves to make the game more friendly towards new players.

Or bring the BM back that would help even more.

Another good idea would be to tell the newer players to keep an eye on the market, and then they would definetely get what they need fast enough. Seems like some empires runs around with no minerals for days, and then suddenly they decides they want build a fleet, and realizes they must use minerals for that... its simple.
