A Mineral Shortage Fix

So I thought of a fix, well somewhat, to the shortage of minerals. At least something that might cancel out the largest problems related to such.

The largest problem being that New players cannot find enough minerals to build ships. These players don`t need a ton of minerals, most of the wealthier empires wouldn`t even notice if the amount they need was taken from their supplies.

So two things we, as players, can do to help.

The first being don`t buy any small intervals \ posts of minerals on the market, leave those for the newer \ poorer empires. I mean really what is another 100k minerals when you have 10, 20, 100+ million already.

Secondly, we could all start randomly posting small amounts of minerals. IE 100k of each, ever day, or every other day, even once a week or so would help.

If all of the wealthier empires posted small amounts randomly and none of them bought any small amounts, there would almost always be at least some minerals for the younger empires to help them get started.

This would require the cooperation of nearly all mature empires on the server...... but I think it could really help.

Thanks for spamming my thread opus.
Most of those are large batches, which older empires are going to buy to lighten their wallet. The rich empires are going to buy the large posts, that`s why I suggested that we post small batches just for the young empires.

Also, this brings up something else that I think we should do. For the large posts, post them at less then $1k, otherwise wealthy empires will buy through the small stacks to buy the large ones..... and if people do do that, I hope they will repost some small batches afterward, as loof suggested.

Very glad to see so many people contributing =)
Despite several mature empires buying them up, it seems at least some newer empires are able to get some minerals this way.

And like I said before, I think we should send pm`s to the mature empires buying these minerals and inform them of our intentions and ask them to please not purchase small batches of minerals; I am sure that once most of them are informed they will be willing to cooperate, maybe even ask them if they would be willing to post minerals as well in such a fashion.

Make Major Dinero only reduce minerals not cash @ a rate of 3%... and only Grand Dineros reduce cash by its normal 10%. I think this would help alot, but im sure TB would complain, but then again who knows.

The biggest fix, would to implement an artifact that would decrease stores of minerals by a certain % (10-25)

That way, people actually wouldn`t care about storing cash in minerals.

Of course that won`t happen....so in the meantime, HB`s suggestion the best we got.

And as to a `fix` for this problem, many say that going tax Miner is more profitable than mineral Miner. So lower the tax modifier to make mineral mining the most lucrative income source. Problem solved. There`s many tax miners out there, if they were all mineral miners the market would be stocked.

As a minor mineral producer, I post in small frequent batches anyway. So if the bigger folks leave these smaller post up for, say, and hour or so, that should be ample opportunity for smaller empires to get it. After and hour, it is open season. ;)
