A Mineral Shortage Fix

So I thought of a fix, well somewhat, to the shortage of minerals. At least something that might cancel out the largest problems related to such.

The largest problem being that New players cannot find enough minerals to build ships. These players don`t need a ton of minerals, most of the wealthier empires wouldn`t even notice if the amount they need was taken from their supplies.

So two things we, as players, can do to help.

The first being don`t buy any small intervals \ posts of minerals on the market, leave those for the newer \ poorer empires. I mean really what is another 100k minerals when you have 10, 20, 100+ million already.

Secondly, we could all start randomly posting small amounts of minerals. IE 100k of each, ever day, or every other day, even once a week or so would help.

If all of the wealthier empires posted small amounts randomly and none of them bought any small amounts, there would almost always be at least some minerals for the younger empires to help them get started.

This would require the cooperation of nearly all mature empires on the server...... but I think it could really help.

HB...after reading here and discussions in PMs, I`m laying off buying minerals posted in quantities of 100,000 or thereabouts. It`ll help the food market as i have to shift resources and investments elsewhere. Ore and food being the remaining two areas open. How`s that?

So... mineral producers...if you don`t want food to go sky high, I`d suggest stoking the mineral market. You know us Terrans, we like to get fat and have our toys made with minerals to play with <VBG>

Will guys im done buying minerals i leave the rest to the new players and such don`t want to make anymore enemys. Also the great advantage about begin coll is that 500,000 can last quiet awhile. :)

Flashy, please don`t, if we all bought "the minerals we are low on" then there would be none left for the new empires. We are only posting minerals for the new players, not for the older players that are a little low on certain minerals. If you are entirely out of a mineral and can`t build ships, sure buy up a little of that mineral, but otherwise please leave the minerals for those in true need. If we don`t all cooperate in this then it is not going to work.

Apologies folks. I am goilty of buying up a `few" smaller lots. I reposted what I bought (did it slowly so it wouldn`t be grabbed in one shot) and will concentrate only on anything above 100K posting.

FYI...if there`s a few 100Ks between me and a larger lot of minerals, I`ll buy the smaller to get to the larger, then repost the smaller.

And I do believe that once the word is spread that every one will be on board.... I mean why wouldn`t they be..... just to be rude and spoil the game for others..... in that case I say we just start using some MD`s on whoever willingly ruins this for the rest of us.

Opus, because if you see a large post and you buy all but a little bit, there will only be one small post left....... if you buy all of it and then respost a bunch of small batches there will be more minerals available in small increments, which is the goal.

in response to loof..why use the anfits ctrl+click and then repost 10%. just type in the exact amount to start off with lol. saves u a bit of time
