A Mineral Shortage Fix

So I thought of a fix, well somewhat, to the shortage of minerals. At least something that might cancel out the largest problems related to such.

The largest problem being that New players cannot find enough minerals to build ships. These players don`t need a ton of minerals, most of the wealthier empires wouldn`t even notice if the amount they need was taken from their supplies.

So two things we, as players, can do to help.

The first being don`t buy any small intervals \ posts of minerals on the market, leave those for the newer \ poorer empires. I mean really what is another 100k minerals when you have 10, 20, 100+ million already.

Secondly, we could all start randomly posting small amounts of minerals. IE 100k of each, ever day, or every other day, even once a week or so would help.

If all of the wealthier empires posted small amounts randomly and none of them bought any small amounts, there would almost always be at least some minerals for the younger empires to help them get started.

This would require the cooperation of nearly all mature empires on the server...... but I think it could really help.

Well thanks for the kind words Brother, but really my idea wouldn`t be worth jack squat if it wasn`t for so many people pitching in and willing to help out. The credit really goes to all the people posting minerals and all those refraining from buying minerals no matter how badly they want them.

And TPE, don`t worry about it, if you really need the minerals then that`s what they are there for. Personally I don`t care who gets them as long as they are in need and not being used just to hoard or just to spend cash.

Despite the few empires unwilling to cooperate, I have personally seen a ton of minerals go to young empires that were truly in need. So even if 20-30% of what we post get used properly, it is still helping out the game a great deal I think.

Glad to see you guys are trying...
Keep up the good work... hopefully it might catch on to more people to help flood the market

Sadly flooding the market is harder than buying it up. Considering the selling restrictions vs no-buying restrictions. And im also very disappointed in some empires who are really fully stock on minerals that are buying up the small post to eat as many minerals as they can.

Well the black market could help the wealthy empires obtain their goal of spending lots of cash or getting a certain amount of minerals..... I just wish that someone wouldn`t have to buy all the way through small batches to get to the BM =/

If anyone knows who is posting tons of composite at 1k, maybe you can ask them to post it at 999.... I just had to buy a bunch of 100k posts to get a few large batches, but I reposted all of the small batches plus many more.

Sibi, no I don`t think we should negotiate with terrorists. It is just greedy to sacrifice the well being of the game just because you want 100m of each mineral. Plus if we gave him all the minerals he wants just to get him to cooperate then shouldn`t we give everyone all the minerals they want?? That might be ideal, but there just aren`t enough minerals to go around.

also, miners should post large stacks on minerals @ 999each so people don`t have to buy the smaller mineral stacks.

@ loof, i started doing it...i saw some posts of 9mil at 1k before and had to buy the 100k ones too which i did repost right after. at 9k it would certainly be better

For awhile it should work...but if they flood it without osting any large lots, those small batches will be wiped very soon by wealthier empires looking to enlarge assets. As far as Balzac "needing" to get to100 mil/mineral? He can do it like everyone else...wait patiently for the larger lots to post up. Seems they`ve been coming up about the same as if the market were dried up.

Yea this will work better if people post the big posts at 999 as mentioned, but interesting to see if we actually can get people to do that... If we can`t it will be fairly clear why the Un convents can`t get any results on greenhouse gas emissions lol

Suggestion... Sell Balzac what he needs to get to 100mil each... It cant be very much for such an old empire I suppose.
