A Mineral Shortage Fix

So I thought of a fix, well somewhat, to the shortage of minerals. At least something that might cancel out the largest problems related to such.

The largest problem being that New players cannot find enough minerals to build ships. These players don`t need a ton of minerals, most of the wealthier empires wouldn`t even notice if the amount they need was taken from their supplies.

So two things we, as players, can do to help.

The first being don`t buy any small intervals \ posts of minerals on the market, leave those for the newer \ poorer empires. I mean really what is another 100k minerals when you have 10, 20, 100+ million already.

Secondly, we could all start randomly posting small amounts of minerals. IE 100k of each, ever day, or every other day, even once a week or so would help.

If all of the wealthier empires posted small amounts randomly and none of them bought any small amounts, there would almost always be at least some minerals for the younger empires to help them get started.

This would require the cooperation of nearly all mature empires on the server...... but I think it could really help.

Not bad ideas Freelancer, I don`t think they will make it sticky, I know stephen wanted a limited amount of sticky threads and I think we are at the max now.

Fish, yeah a few people are buying up a lot, but I still see quite a few going to young empires and it definitely is helping...... it also helps if you pm the older empires that buy your minerals and ask them to not buy them and send them a link to this thread, informing them of what we are trying to do.

I am noticing that the same people are buying the batches I`m posting....which I don`t mind because I still get the money but it is not really helping the new players that much.

Although i think some newbies are buying so i`ll carry on.

This is just my opinion

1.) make this a sticky so it stays on top of the forum... got to speak to an admin about that.

2.) Post small batchs... 100k isnt discouraging players from buying it up... 10-20k would do a new empire just fine.

3.) stack post... what i mean by that is small batchs are at 1k, while bigger batchs in front, so you creat a buffer.

Outline of idea #3.
If you guy a post of 9,999,999 minerals or just going to put minerals on the market to help out, do it this way.
Sell 10 batchs of minerals - @ $1,ooo of 15k minerals per batch
Sell 2 batchs of minerals - @ 999 of 50k minerals per batch
Sell 2 batchs of minerals - @ 998 of 100k minerals per batch
Sell 1 batch of minerals - @ 997 whatever amount you want to return.

This way you buffer/stack the minerals in a way that is less desirable to buy the smaller batchs.

I havent been buying minerals until recently. And even with HB idea to keep minerals on the market, im not selling minerals back onto the market even if i buy them. Takes time & effort, i would help out but i have my own standards of me first, server later. Plus i wont part with 100k batchs cause some VET will buy them up anyways & im not on board for helping out another VET, i would only post back for the NEWER players.

Anyways thats my opinion & how i see it all currently. Keep up the good work, and hopefully this idea sticks around, its doing the server some good, nothing bad is coming of this.

lol yeah fresh, I never hit the limit before I started this either.... kind of annoying but not all that bad.

So I have seen more young empires buying minerals off me then I even knew we had..... this is awesome.

1 person can sell maxium of 15 times every 5 minutes
126 seconds more until you are allowed to post again

Didn`t even know this happens....selling in low volumes takes ages!

yes I have been buying some red... Ive bought about 1 mill total of it. I needed it. I still need it Im almost out again. Im 20 days old I dont have reserves. I prefer not to buy the 100k posts but 2 of them at a time when I need it is what I have to do since I never see anyone posting a large quantity of red.

Well, Fist bought about 20 posts of mine, SilverOwl about 25, Amaranth bought out all my red, and spacehawk bought out close to or maybe over 50 posts, so don`t tell me they are all just trying to reach bigger stacks. Those people are buying out what they can. Everyone else who bought went for 2-5 stacks, so those I`ll believe were buying to get to big posts

FYI..and I know FistFull is also practicing this...buying the smaller lots to reach bigger lots...

I had done that and saw FFOD bought my 5 reposts (the three I bought and two I threw in). I PM`d him and discovered he did the same as i.

So if y`all see a series of purchases by one empire? Don`t feel like an not-smart like I did PMing the buying empire. Chances are...especially the vets and readers of the forum...folks are buying to get at a large lot and then reposting....
