So I was just sitting here thinking about how much I love the federation that is M|K. And I wanted to share it with everyone. I wanted to scream it from the highest mountain.

I love them so much that I want to hug them and squeeze them until they are no more, until I am no more, until we are compressed into a singularity.

Does anyone else feel the same way about them or anyone else???

Just want to spread and feel the love. Not often here in GC do we discuss how much we love one another, and especially our enemies.

But I am truly greatly for everyone that plays gc, including all of my enemies, especially M|K (they hold a very special place in my heart).

I don`t take it personally, I actually take it as a compliment, because that means someone has to stoop to low levels just to try and get the upper hand when fighting me. And you may call it in game strategy or whatever you want, I still call it being deceitful and dishonest. You are lying to people in order to try and get them to trust you, in order to find out information about them. In essence you are cheating them out of a fair fight.

In a true war, when thousands, or even millions, of lives are at stake, then I can see why you might do anything possible to try and save those lives. When it comes to saving human lives I do believe the rules\ethics change a bit. But to be dishonest to try and beat someone at a game.... I mean where do you draw the line?!?

in -game strategy hb...do not always generalize things lol. spying is part of warfare. heck, its prob one of the most important things in war. botting and hacking a pc has nothing to do with GAME strategy...thats plain cheating fullstop.

example: during my miner uw, a guard empire (ex mk...) was in marines and in favour to the uw supposedly so. after Drks backstabbed MK, we had received some intel that someone would backstab again when the uw reached a certain amount of time before the end. now, you can imagine what sort of talks we went through in the uw convo and in private chats with the leaders and trusting empires, it was a total chaos leading almost to a total disaster amongst the actual uw supporters. no one was sure anymore who could be trusted and who not. with some sneaky questions and orders we managed to figure it out though and the intel was most probably just to destabilize the defense but we do not know till this day who it could have been as the uw ended before that given time anyways.

So you see...situations like these make a uw or any combat even more fun and interesting. i think spying is part of it. it raises the tension within certain groups of people making the game very realistic. especially out of the game, msn/skype etc where the actual defense/offense plans strategy and tactics.

so i think you shouldnt take it too personal that someone spies on you or your fed to get x amount of intel and share it with others to plan something against you. in no ways can you compare that to botting and hacking someones pc. hells, hacking someones pc means intruding someone`s personal life...

And if you believe that someone should us "all available strategy in order to win" then do you think it`s alright or me to hack your computer?! do you think it`s okay for me to use resources and find out where you live and disconnect your internet, or steal your computer?!? Is it okay to use a complex bot to use every turn constantly for months on end?!?

Obviously there are limits to what is considered acceptable, respectable, ethical, etc..... just because it`s a strategy game and a war game, doesn`t mean that anything should go. Just my opinion though, which I happen to believe as fact.

Not a deceitful act?! Are you joking? It is by definition deceitful.... to pretend to be a friend, ally or fed mate, and then betray those people you get close to, those people that have come to trust you. It doesn`t get much more deceitful then that.

And I don`t care who did what first, that makes no difference at all. Some one else doing something wrong does not make it okay for you to do something wrong. I am so sick of that argument, it disgusts me. "But look what they did!!" It doesn`t matter what someone else does, what matters is what you do. And if you do something wrong you are responsible for such actions and there is no legitimate excuse for such actions.

Galactic Conquest is primary a space war strategy game, and in this case i will empthise STRATEGY. Therefore any skilled player must use all available strategy in order to win.

Spying in my eyes is not a deceitful act, it is simply an available tool able to use in order to strategically get the upper hand.

Anyway, M I K (known as common wealth in normal) were the ones who spied on us first.

Whereas when i did it, it`s too share information following the freedom of information act to anyone i considered friends. =P

Personally i liked it when fed mates could vote, i was in UFP when took the federation and kicked everyone lol.

To me, everything that can be done in the REAL WORLD, should be implemented into the strategy of a game.

Yea HB, I will go to hell on another game because of my "deceitful" deeds. In this game I do not have the vast luxury that I would have in the other to do as much "superior" damage.

I am just glad my M|K`ness (if thats a term) holds up for the next decade lol

spying was only really viable and useful when anaboliking was popular, then you wanted a mole in suspect feds to make sure they weren`t planning on wiping you out, but that`s just my opinion.

Well a game and a true war, where lives are at stake, are entirely different situations. In a true war I wouldn`t hesitate to end someone`s life... however would you literally end someone`s life in a game? You can`t really compare the two. And I think that spying in a game is just a low tactic.

And no this is not a troll.... it was not meant to start trouble and I don`t think it has at all so far.... I was only partially joking, I really do like MK, I respect some of their players and I am thankful for them and the competition they have offered over the years.

In true war, you either lose your life or your soul (or at the very least, a severely damaged and permanently scarred one).

However, there`s something to be said about gathering intel on your adversaries. Even Sun Tzu recognized that deception, intelligence, and reputation are just as necessarily as brute force or tactical brilliance to win a war or battle.

That said, it sounds a lot more like what Anfit did to DotV back in the day with his UW on fast.

Ermm I would say more like he back stabbed opus, rather then spied.... but yes betrayed him, he was deceitful certainly from what I know, and I did not at all condone such an action....

it does not make him my enemy just because I disagree with something that he did, but yes if he continuously acted in such a fashion then he would not be an ally of mine as I would not want to be associated with such.

But if I stopped associating with everyone that did something I don`t agree with, well I wouldn`t even be an ally of myself.
