Still i say GC is worth $1 :P
I could probly build this game if I had 3 -4 months of my life to it... But unfortunately there are things like school and work that get in the way.. I remember Ag3l0fD3ath was working on it for a while... before he went retardo :/

Why would you buy gc anyways... would be cheaper to rebuild it than fix all the bugs in coldfusion...

Your right, GC does need advertising. But it also needs investment.
Apart from the fact that we and others are adicted to it. Their are still more fancy games around. So if GC was revamped cosmetically it would then be appealing.
Be honest and have a look, it`s really nothing special but we seem to love it. That is because we fill in the gaps to make it more creative and appealing. If the game had this already it would atract many more people and they would stay!
If you improve the first impressions, you have more sign ups, more sign ups mean a better and more active game and thus the goal of marketing. But first revamp into something nice. Maybe even a downloadable flash browsers. Of course have a online html/css version but have a flash version as well.

And what would you do with the $113.43, 22 Euros and 2 British pounds of cash you receive? Put it towards advertising for GC specifically? That`s what this site really needs is advertising.
Money? I`m a student, and am getting married in a little less than a year, I don`t have money. I live off of Mr.Noodles during the school semester, (thank god it`s christmas break!) I can`t even afford one dollar for anything I would like to have right now.
Well if i ever get rich i`d buy GC off stephen.

I`m going to start the GC donation website, which everyone here can donate to. The idea is build up funds to help towards stephens retirement and the purchase of GC.

Ragnarok, when calculating value lizenses or servers do not matter. If somebody decides to "invest" into the game he will compare what is better: to buy some shares of "real" companies or buy the gc. if you get 5% return from real shares then gc must also have 5% return. If gc lizenses, etc cost 1 mil.$ then the return should be 50 000$ per year, what is completely unrealistic.

Yea, can`t really argue with Trav or DM on this subject. I love the idea of Stephen seeing this game as some sort retirement vehical, even though he doesn`t do anything to advance the game besides basic maintenance and collecting money from paids. :P
Also, I think what Arrland seems to be arguing is that you determine the value of a business by the amount of net profit (gross revenue minus all the expenses) it takes in, and then you multiply it by 15. But that doesn`t take into account the market value of any equipment associated with the website such as value of servers, associated software, licenses, etc does it?
Has anyone ever actually tried to contact Stephen by phone?

I`m going to have to go with DM on this. Additionally my guess would be that Ste is simply stubborn, or disinterested enough in this to see it go for anything realistic. Or perhaps he simply has delusions of grandeur, and sees it as some sort of potential retirement fund. Either way, LOL!

when selling a car, you have to take in account all what`s broken and needs to be replaced, you have to let a mechanic do a big checkup etc...
those are costs that you have to take in account when selling the car.
Or you (let) do all the repairs and maintenance yourself, and you ask normal price;
or you have to lower the price, cause you`re selling something that needs a lot of work.
